Futsal: leaders reeled in by all, Pennarossa and Faetano smile again

With league leaders Fiorentino on a bye week, all four closest chasers win and cut the gap at the top of the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal. On Matchday 22 – all played last night – Zonzini’s Folgore hit three past Virtus and move to within seven points of the Rossoblù. An early strike from Massimiliano Bernardi and a quick second from Michele Ercolani allow the Giallorossoneri to control the game. Mirko Giardi’s goal at the end of the first half makes life even easier for the Falciano club. The 3-0 scoreline remains unchanged to the final whistle, despite the sending-off of Federico Zamboni on 52 minutes for the Neroverdi, who suffer a second straight defeat – but remain sixth in the table. Nothing changes just behind Folgore: bunched within just two points, La Fiorita (third on 46 points), Tre Fiori (45) and Murata (44) all celebrate. The Gialloblù from Montegiardino run out 7-3 winners over a Tre Penne side coming off two consecutive victories. It is the Biancazzurri who open the scoring through Jacopo Gamba, but Galli’s men roar back and turn it around with goals from Danny Gasperoni and Jacopo Giuccioli. After the restart, Gasperoni strikes again for 4-1, while Gamba replies to keep his side alive. La Fiorita’s decisive surge arrives via Giacomo Bernardi, Andrea Franciosi and again Gasperoni (four goals for him, taking his seasonal tally to 31). In stoppage time Salles pulls one back to make the defeat a little less heavy for Ghiotti’s team. Tre Fiori’s Gialloblù also claim victory against a good Libertas side. Alex Bugli’s team lay down the law in the first half with goals from Lorenzo Burioni, Michele Casadei and Alessandro Esposito. Early in the second half Nicola Beinat puts Penserini’s Granata back in contention, and on 56 minutes Giuseppe Covi brings them to within one. In the closing stages Michele Casadei also sees red for the Gialloblù, but Libertas cannot find an equaliser. Thus comes to an end the three‑match winning streak of the Borgo Maggiore club. A lively contest instead between Murata and Domagnano. In the only match played at 21:15 in Domagnano (Matchday 22 featured no indoor fixtures), the Bianconeri go ahead through the ever‑reliable Matteo Moretti, only for Manuel Bollini to reply, finishing off a set‑piece routine. The red card shown to Alex Mattioli on 23 minutes gives Domagnano two minutes of power play, but the Giallorossi fail to capitalise. In the second half Santarini is also sent off and, from the resulting free‑kick, Murata retake the lead again through Moretti. Under the laws, Domagnano return to five players without having to wait for the end of the two minutes following the sending‑off. The game is open and feisty, as underlined by the third red card of the evening: this time it is Bianconero Pasquale Rizzo who pays the price. Even a man down, Murata score again on 52 minutes through Belloni, extending their advantage. Domagnano try to get back into it with Kevin Vagnini, but it is not enough. Gabriele Cellarosi’s side win 3-2 and stay in touch with the leading group. The poor run continues for Domagnano, who have not won since 29 January. Juvenes-Dogana celebrate as well: Levani’s side take the derby against Cosmos and, thanks to a 3-1 victory over the Gialloverdi, return to winning ways after two straight defeats. Chezzi scores early, Borasco doubles the lead, then Alessandro Carloni pulls one back for Federico Muccioli’s team. In the second half Nicolò Gianni nets Juvenes-Dogana’s third, and they manage their two‑goal cushion to the end, remaining seventh. Cosmos, despite a fourth defeat in a row, remain inside the play-off positions. Speaking of the post‑season, an important step forward for Pennarossa, who pick up precious points and confidence. Mattia Casadei’s Biancorossi get the better of Cailungo after a spectacular match. Michele Sabatino is in great form and puts the Rossoverdi ahead, but Marco Baldani levels on 13 minutes, shortly before being sent off on 21. Sabatino shifts up another gear, adding two more (20’ and 26’) to give his side a two‑goal lead, but the Biancorossi pull one back in first‑half stoppage time through Gianpaolo Brighi. The contest remains gripping and the second half is equally entertaining. Cailungo carve out another gap, going 4-2 up with Enrico Esposito, but “Penna” refuse to give in. Alessandro Ciacci leads the fightback on 46 minutes by reducing the deficit, then Alessandro Podeschi finds the equaliser (56’). Just a minute later the Chiesanuova club go in front through Alex Maiani. It is the goal that settles the contest and brings Pennarossa back to winning ways after four defeats. The Biancorossi are now 11th on 15 points, five clear of Cailungo themselves. ©FSGC | Referees Ercolani and Piccoli (centre) during a play-off match in the Latvian league A very long wait ends for Faetano, who return to winning ways after more than four months. Davide Gualtieri’s team hit double figures against San Giovanni. Man of the match is undoubtedly Giacomo Casali, who scores six. In addition to him, the Gialloblù goals come from Giacomo Bacciocchi, Matteo Scarponi, Michele Moroni and Giovanni De Cesare. Not even Marco Ugolini’s fine display – four goals for him, plus one from Michele Giacobbi – is enough for the Rossoneri in the final 10-5 scoreline. Thanks to this victory Faetano join San Giovanni on seven points, relegating the Rossoneri to bottom place by virtue of a better goal difference in head‑to‑head meetings. Turning to referee exchanges: ASA match officials Gianmarco Ercolani and Andrea Piccoli have returned from Latvia, where they were involved on 2 and 3 March in the refereeing of two play-off matches in the Latvian league. As in the past, the referee exchange programme will continue into the Titano post‑season, with two Latvian referees appointed to take charge of some play-off matches in the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal.
