Futsal: Juvenes-Dogana fight back to move into fourth place

A trio of victories for the clubs representing the Castello di Serravalle and, in particular for Juvenes-Dogana, results of real significance. Levani’s men break the 50-point barrier and draw level in fourth place alongside La Fiorita. It was precisely against the Montegiardino side, last night in Dogana, that they claimed a win which – in the event of finishing level on points – would see the Biancorossazzurri come out on top. Having fallen behind early to a brace from Danny Gasperoni between the 13th and 18th minutes, Juvenes-Dogana were let off the hook when Bernardi missed a 10-metre free-kick that would have made it 3-0. From there the comeback began, its first signs arriving with a strike from Baldelli right on the stroke of half-time. In the second half Cavalli restored parity after just two minutes, before Baldelli’s second of the night proved to be the decisive blow. La Fiorita will be back in action on Friday to play their Matchday 27 fixture in hand against Fiorentino. Michelotti’s side, who are also in action tomorrow in the late fixture with Domagnano (Multieventi, 21:45), were temporarily overtaken in the table by Folgore, although they have two games in hand on last season’s runners-up. Chezzi and his team-mates overwhelmed San Giovanni with a final scoreline of 18-0: multiple goals for Chezzi (5), Bernardi (4), Pellegrini (3), Volpinari, Giardi and Morri (2). There are still two matches to be played before the end of the regular season for the Falciano club, who on Thursday will play the match against Tre Fiori that was postponed last week. The battle for third place involving Murata and Tre Fiori is also extremely intriguing. Both sides won yesterday and are locked together on 57 points; they will face each other in a head-to-head clash in the next round. A Murata victory – given the draw in the reverse fixture – would keep the Bianconeri ahead even if Bugli’s team were to get the better of Folgore in Thursday night’s game in Dogana. In that scenario, it would be the head-to-head record that would reward Cellarosi’s men, who yesterday beat Libertas 5-1. Moretti and Albani both scored twice after Mattioli had opened the scoring. The Granata salvaged some pride with a goal from Cola. Tre Fiori also won handsomely, defeating Pennarossa 7-3. Brighi’s early goal for the Biancorossi was quickly cancelled out by Filippo Burioni. Further strikes in quick succession from Toccaceli and Lorenzo Burioni put the match firmly on a favourable path for the Fiorentino club, who ran away with it in the second half thanks to Crescentini, a Casadei brace and a second goal for Lorenzo Burioni. In stoppage time Pennarossa reduced the deficit through Ciacci and Podeschi. Despite all their efforts, Cailungo were unable to take any points from their match with Virtus. The Neroverdi, dealing with a goalkeeping emergency, went in front first through Carlini and then Sensoli, but Vitillo and Sabatino soon brought the scores level again. So it was Zamboni’s finish, two minutes from time, that sealed Virtus’ victory, ending their three-game winless run. Cosmos, finally, secured their play-off berth thanks to a comprehensive win over Faetano. At the final whistle the Gialloverdi ran out 7-0 victors, with six different players on the scoresheet: in addition to a brace from Righi, there were also goals from Bacciocchi, Cervellini, Carloni, Zanotti and Zafferani.
