Futsal: La Fiorita plotting a coup as Tre Fiori and Folgore face off for a podium place

The last league round before the break could reshuffle the pack. And this applies also – indeed above all – to the positions at the top. Tomorrow will feature both the clash between first and second and the “play-off” between the two sides currently sharing third place. Fiorentino – so far perfect with a 100% winning record – recently pulled away from La Fiorita at the summit, taking advantage of the latter’s rest round. Tomorrow Gianni Galli’s team will have the chance to reclaim top spot as they take on the reigning champions in the first of the matches in Dogana. In short, a Christmas as league leaders is at stake. Just behind them, Tre Fiori and Folgore, who have recently drawn level in third place, will “play off” to end the calendar year on the bottom step of the podium. Same number of points (27) and identical goal difference (+37) for the Giallorossoneri and the Gialloblù: the former come into it on the back of three straight wins, the latter are unbeaten in seven and tomorrow will have goalkeeper Andreani back from suspension after missing the Tre Penne match. This will be the game that opens the programme in Fiorentino. The second game on the same court will also be a direct showdown. Pennarossa, coming off four defeats in a row, are chasing redemption against a Libertas side that are right on their heels (just one point behind) and are currently on a two-game unbeaten run. Juvenes-Dogana and Virtus are also neighbours in the table and will meet in the first of the two fixtures in Acquaviva (outdoor). The Acquaviva side are coming from the defeat to Fiorentino, which cost them contact with the group of teams that also includes Juvenes-Dogana, currently two points above Pollini’s men. The Biancorossoazzurri, for their part, are unbeaten in three and are looking to extend that streak to preserve – and possibly increase – their cushion over one of their most direct rivals. The second match in Acquaviva (outdoor) will see Domagnano face Cailungo. The Wolves, having returned to winning ways against Cosmos, are aiming to repeat that success and close the gap on the Tre Fiori-Folgore pair, or at least on one of the two sides involved in their head-to-head. Cailungo, meanwhile, are hoping to end their unwanted cohabitation with San Giovanni on the bottom rung of the table, all the more so because this will be the round in which the Rossoneri have their bye. In the second match in Dogana, Murata, like Domagnano and Juvenes-Dogana, will try to make up ground on fourth place. To do so, Cellarosi’s men will need to build on their win over Cailungo. This time, however, they will be up against Cosmos, who are coming off defeat to Domagnano but are enticed by the prospect of capitalising on the direct clash between Pennarossa and Libertas, who will inevitably take points off each other. Coach Muccioli will be without Bacciocchi, sent off against Domagnano and suspended for one match. Rounding off the programme for Matchday 12 will be Tuesday’s meeting between Tre Penne and Faetano, with the former intent on bouncing straight back after losing to Tre Fiori and the latter needing to rediscover a positive result after four games without. The match will be played on the court of the Acquaviva gym. This is the Matchday 12 programme, the last one before the break:
