Futsal: Folgore answer Fiorentino, cup semi-final dates confirmed
For a few hours Fiorentino had enjoyed top spot on their own. But Folgore, in the late fixture, completed their mission and drew level once again with their rivals at the top of the table in the single group, scoring one goal more than them and thus cutting into the goal difference which, as things stand, still favours Michelotti’s side over Spada’s. On the Multieventi court, the match quickly took on clear yellow-and-red-and-black shades within the first 30 minutes: Libertas, with a very reduced squad, were immediately hit by a brace from Massimiliano Bernardi; then, after the interval, former Libertas player Mirko Giardi widened the gap, before an unfortunate deflection from Francesco Rossi made it 4-0. The final blows, sealing a sixteenth league win – in seventeen matches – for Bernardi and his team-mates, were struck by Matteo Chezzi, Andrea Pelliccioni and Giardi again. The defeat – their second in a row – confirms for Libertas that they have now been caught by San Giovanni and Tre Penne, with Faetano and Cosmos also closing in.
