Futsal, league: Cosmos beat Pennarossa and close the gap in the table

Cosmos returned to winning ways by beating Pennarossa in the late fixture at the Multieventi, climbing to eleventh place, right behind the Chiesanuova side, now just two points ahead. The deadlock was broken on the quarter-hour mark with a powerful strike from Bacciocchi that flew in under the crossbar. The same yellow-green pivot struck again a few minutes later with a close-range touch. Cosmos dropped off in the second half, allowing Pennarossa to believe in a comeback which, in fact, materialised in the closing stages of the match. A fine piece of play by Tomassoni and a sudden long-range effort from Podeschi brought the score back level. There was still time, however, for Andrea Guidi to burst away down the right flank and finish with a toe poke at the near post, catching out the other Guidi on the pitch, Antonino. It was a moment of real quality that enabled Cosmos to move up a place (overtaking Libertas) and condemned Pennarossa to a third consecutive defeat.
