Futsal, league: Folgore flawless, Virtus celebrate too
Four wins from the four matches that kicked off last night’s sixteenth matchday of the futsal league. Another victory for Folgore, who come out on top in the Serravalle derby against Cosmos. Max Spada’s side break the deadlock in the first half through Matteo Chezzi, but the Gialloverdi hit back immediately with Alberto Bologna. The team from Falciano regain the lead shortly before the interval thanks to the ever-reliable Massimiliano Bernardi, who then doubles his tally midway through the second half. Folgore then run riot, adding further goals from Mirko Giardi and again from Chezzi to seal a 5-1 win.
An important victory too for Virtus who, inspired by an excellent Paolo Casadei, move up to fourth place, pending tonight’s head-to-head between Tre Fiori and La Fiorita. The Neroverdi beat Libertas 3-1 thanks to a hat-trick from their marksman, who opens the scoring early on. Penserini’s Granata level through Francesco Rossi, but Casadei restores the lead before the break and then completes his treble ten minutes from time.
Pennarossa also return to winning ways, making up in the best possible fashion for last round’s 3-0 defeat to La Fiorita and recording their fourth win in the last five. Mattia Casadei’s men cruise to a 5-1 success over Faetano. The Biancorossi come flying out of the blocks, with goals from Nicolas Gasperoni and Alessandro Podeschi sending them into the break two up. After the restart Pennarossa do not let up, as Alessandro Ciacci and Manuel Poggiali also get on the scoresheet, before Faetano’s timid reaction through Matteo Macchia. Naouar then puts the game to bed in the closing stages. The Biancorossi climb to eighth on 22 points, while Faetano remain stuck near the bottom in third-from-last place with 10 points.
A crucial win as well for Murata who, after drawing in the last round with Cailungo, pick up three valuable points for both morale and the table. Thanks to their 2-1 success over San Giovanni, the Bianconeri move up to 11th place, which currently grants a playoff spot. Murata take the lead early on through Alessandro Conti, then double it at the start of the second half via Achille Della Valle. Federico Mularoni’s goal is not enough for San Giovanni to get back into the game or avoid a fourth defeat in their last five outings.
The sixteenth matchday concludes this evening with three fixtures: in Acquaviva, Domagnano-Tre Penne (20:15) and La Fiorita-Tre Fiori (21:45), while all eyes will be on the big novelty of the clash at the Multieventi between Fiorentino and Cailungo (21:30). It will be the very first time ever that a San Marino futsal league match is played on the parquet of the Serravalle indoor arena.
