Futsal: Murata and Pennarossa out to extend lead at the top
The twelfth matchday of the futsal league will be played between tomorrow and Thursday evening. The new round will kick off tomorrow night with the unusual early fixture at the Multieventi (9:45 p.m.) between San Giovanni and Tre Fiori. The Rossoneri are still chasing their first win of the season, while the Gialloblu want to bounce back from last round’s narrow defeat and move into double figures in the table.
At the top, leaders Murata and chasers Pennarossa are both looking to pull away. The Bianconeri – on a run of nine straight victories – will be in action on Thursday evening in Domagnano (9:45 p.m.) against Fiorentino, who come into the game on the back of two consecutive defeats. On an identical path to Murata are Pennarossa – second in the table, three points behind the leaders – who on Thursday (Domagnano, 8:15 p.m.) will be aiming for a tenth win in a row: the Biancorossi’s opponents will be Cailungo, who have not won in four outings.
Among the most intriguing clashes of the round is Domagnano-La Fiorita (to be played on Thursday in Fiorentino, 9:45 p.m.). The Gialloblu – third, one point behind Pennarossa – want to keep their excellent form going (five wins on the bounce) and remain part of the Fab Four, while the Giallorossi are targeting victory to break into the leading group. There are in fact five points between the two sides in the standings, with Domagnano currently fifth. Sitting between them is Virtus, who on Thursday will face Juvenes-Dogana (Dogana, 8:15 p.m.). The Neroverdi come into the game after two wins in a row, while Levani and his team-mates have had a stop-start campaign so far – they are currently tenth.
Folgore coached by Zonzini are instead looking to get back on track when on Thursday evening (Dogana, 9:45 p.m.) they take on Libertas: the Falciano club have gone two matches without a win, while the Borgo Maggiore side are bottom of the table with nothing but defeats so far. Cosmos and Faetano, on the other hand, come into Thursday’s meeting in Fiorentino (kick-off 8:15 p.m.) on the back of valuable wins. The Gialloverdi want to consolidate their comfortable spot in the play-off zone – they are currently ninth – while the Gialloblu are looking to kick on in order to move closer to the post-season. Tre Penne, finally, will have their rest round.
