Futsal: Murata beat Domagnano and restore six-point lead

Murata claim their 20th win (from 21), break the 60-point barrier and restore their lead over the chasing pack, now back to six points. The second late fixture of Matchday 22, played at the Multieventi, is unlocked on 11 minutes, when Menghi loses the ball in the first build-up and Ercolani sets up Busignani’s left foot; his deflected effort offers a second chance to Ercolani, whose first-time finish finds the net with a crucial touch off Muraccini. Domagnano withstand the prolonged pressure from the league leaders and even create a chance on the counter: excellent from Protti, who blocks Villa’s angled right-footed effort with his foot. Otherwise, the black-and-white monologue is practically uninterrupted and yields the 2-0 goal just seconds before the end of the first half. Moretti wins the ball off Gatti and shoots almost with a sure goal in sight, but Muraccini produces a fine save; Albani recycles the loose ball for Moretti, who cuts inside onto his right and fires hard inside the far post, this time leaving the Wolves’ keeper no chance. In the second half, after Ercolani hits a double post, it is again Moretti who makes it 3-0, thanks to a thunderous right-footed strike from a tight angle that arrows in at the far upright. The contest is rounded off by two lightning left-foot strikes from Mattioli who, on both occasions, finds the top corner furthest from him. Before the final whistle, Moretti comes within centimetres of a hat-trick: this time it is the crossbar that spares Muraccini and his team-mates from the powerful right-footed effort of Murata’s number 8.
