Futsal: Murata comes back from four goals down to win the derby, La Fiorita hit four past Virtus
Murata are on the verge of breaking the 80-point barrier in 28 matches of the Campionato Sammarinese. With top spot in the regular season already secured a week ago, the Bianconeri once again underlined their quality by overcoming a nightmare first half. In the derby it was in fact Tre Penne who came flying out of the blocks, going in front and then doubling their lead through Cola and Beinat inside just eight minutes. Five minutes from the break, Cola’s second made it 3-0, a lead that grew even further on 33 minutes when Rossi struck. Just when Penserini’s side could almost savour the pride of beating Murata, Spada’s men began to build their comeback. De Angelis kick-started the league leaders’ attacking play, who then struck either side of the midway point of the second half through Ercolani and Mattioli. On 54 minutes Moretti signed the equaliser, the prelude to the turnaround completed by Busignani a minute later.
Pennarossa – idle this round and Murata’s next opponents in the Titano Futsal Cup final – will surely have taken notes. Looking to threaten their second place is La Fiorita, who at the Multieventi beat Virtus 4-1. Holding a narrow lead at half-time thanks to Simone Chezzi, the Gialloblù pulled away after the restart with goals from Pellegrini, Matteo Chezzi and Giuccioli. Cevoli’s strike on 50 minutes brought Virtus, coached by Michelotti, briefly back to 1-3; they will now have to defend fourth place in their final two regular season fixtures. Looking further ahead, Virtus can take real encouragement from having almost fully recovered Luca Zafferani from the very serious injury suffered at the start of the season – he was on court in the second half as flying goalkeeper and even went close to scoring with a back-heel.
Next up for Virtus are Domagnano, sixth and six points behind, and fresh from a 7-1 win over Faetano, who are now virtually out of postseason contention. Six different scorers for the Giallorossi, who added strikes from Santarini, Muraccini, Righi, Gracik and Menghi to a brace from Davide Dolcini. Lorenzo Bollini could not get his name on the scoresheet, seeing a 10-metre free-kick saved by Giusti. The ever-reliable Omar El Attar netted Faetano’s consolation goal on 53 minutes, by which time their opponents had already scored five.
Cailungo now look all but out of reach, securing 12th place with their current five-point cushion. Crucial was their victory over Tre Fiori, earned at the end of a real rollercoaster. Sarti opened the scoring inside the first minute, but Pollini’s side hit back and managed to go into the break 2-1 up thanks to Michelotti and Tamagnini. In the second half Venerucci’s men showed greater desire to win, sealing three vital points through Flammini and Rossini.
Things are much tighter in the middle of the table, where the final regular season positions will determine the actual play-off pairings and potential paths. Folgore’s 2-1 win over Fiorentino has bunched up the top of the right-hand column, where three teams are separated by just four points. It was a cagey, goalless first half, with the match decided at the beginning and end of the second: Toccaceli and Taddei put the Falciano club in control, before Morri pulled one back on 56 minutes, a late response that could not change the outcome for the Rossoblù.
The only draw of the evening came in the Serravalle Castle derby between Cosmos and Juvenes-Dogana. The point at least stems the bleeding for the Biancorossazzurri, who came from behind twice thanks to Thomas Celli and Bologna. Nothing doing for Muccioli’s side, who failed to capitalise on the two leads given to them by Cerquetti and Bacciocchi.
