Futsal: Murata end unbeaten, Folgore finish tenth

With the matches played last night, the 30th and final matchday of the regular season of the Campionato Sammarinese di Futsal has officially come to an end.

Pennarossa sign off the season with a resounding win, sweeping aside San Giovanni with an emphatic 9-1 success. The Biancorossi fly out of the blocks and close the first half with as many as seven goals to their name, the result of the high tempo imposed from the outset. Ceccoli breaks the deadlock after just one minute, followed by Toccaceli, who completes a brilliant hat-trick, and further goals from Verri (brace), Maiani and an own goal by Francioni. After the break, following Toccaceli’s third of the night, San Giovanni find their only goal through Volpinari, before Guidi’s late strike seals the final 9-1 scoreline. The Chiesanuova side finish second in the table and clinch direct qualification for the play-offs.

An important victory also for Fiorentino, who edge past Cailungo 4-3 in a fiery encounter full of twists and turns. The Rossoblù take the lead in the 2nd minute through Burgagni, but an own goal by Elia Venerucci restores parity. In the second half the sides trade blows: Angelini and Rossini score for Cailungo, while Paoloni and Deluigi hit the target for Fiorentino. The decisive moment comes two minutes from time with another own goal – this time by Flammini – which hands all three points to Galli’s men. Both the Rossoblù (eighth place) and the Rossoverdi (twelfth) will continue their season in the Preliminary Round.

There is also a clear win for La Fiorita, who cruise to a comprehensive 7-0 success over Cosmos. Traviglia’s side, third in the standings, go into the break 1-0 up thanks to Morini’s goal. In the second half the Gialloblù run riot: Pellegrini nets a brace, both Matteo and Simone Chezzi get on the scoresheet, Morini adds his second of the evening and Gualandi rounds things off late on. Despite the heavy defeat, the Gialloverdi still qualify for the Preliminary Round thanks to their seventh-place finish.

There is total dominance as well from Virtus, who overcome Libertas by the same scoreline (7-0). The Neroverdi start strongly, striking through Biordi, Pazzaglia and Bernardi in the first half. Shortly after the restart Pascucci scores from the spot and, ten minutes later, Bernardi adds two more to complete his hat-trick. Pascucci’s late goal wraps up a match thoroughly controlled by Michelotti’s men. The Acquaviva club, with fourth place secured, qualify directly for the play-offs, while the Granata from Borgo Maggiore finish the season in bottom place.

League leaders Murata confirm their superiority, completing the regular season unbeaten with a crushing 15-1 victory over Faetano. Spada’s team, top of the table with a perfect record, once again showcase their full attacking power. The undisputed star is Moretti, who scores no fewer than seven times. Busignani also finds the net with a hat-trick, while Littera, Albani, Capicchioni, Belloni and a Bacciocchi own goal complete the tally. Faetano’s only reply comes from Zafferani. For the Gialloblù, 13th place means their season ends here.

In Domagnano, the match between Tre Penne and Domagnano finishes all square after a thrilling 3-3 draw. The Biancoazzurri move into a two-goal lead in the first half thanks to Gamba and Sabatino. Late in the half, Gasperoni’s side have a chance to pull one back from a 10-metre free-kick, but Bollini squanders the opportunity by shooting wide. After the interval Tre Penne try to kill the game off when Contato makes it three, but the Giallorossi react soon after through Vagnini, who reopens the contest. Domagnano push on and score again through Righi, then, with time almost up, Filippo Dolcini completes a sensational comeback for the Lupi with the equaliser. Both teams will continue their campaign in the Preliminary Round.

There is also a draw in the Serravalle derby between Folgore and Juvenes-Dogana, played at the Multieventi. The Giallorossoneri break the deadlock in the 28th minute: a free-kick on the edge of the area which Ercolani strikes precisely, catching the wall and goalkeeper out as he finds the gap to bury the opener for 1-0. The Biancorossoblù response arrives early in the second half: Celli bursts down the left and delivers a dangerous ball into the area. Mularoni’s touch slightly changes its trajectory, allowing Bologna to arrive on cue and turn it home for the 1-1 equaliser. Late on, Zonzini’s men come very close to snatching it: Beccari breaks down the right and squares for Casali, but Chiaruzzi – pushed up as flying goalkeeper – gets the slightest touch, and in the end it is Zanotti who clears off the line with a vital intervention that prevents a second Folgore goal. The point gained allows Folgore to hold on to tenth place in the table, just ahead of their derby rivals.

With these results, the 2024–25 regular season is now over. Attention now turns to the Preliminary Round, which will get underway on Wednesday 8 May with the first-leg fixtures (second leg on 12 May). The ties are as follows: Tre Penne v Cailungo, Cosmos v Folgore, Domagnano v Juvenes-Dogana and Fiorentino v Tre Fiori. If the aggregate score is level after both legs, the team with the higher finish in the regular season will advance to the play-offs.
