Futsal: Murata snatch last-gasp win, Pennarossa defeated in top clash

The postponed fixture of the 17th matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal certainly lived up to expectations. In Tuesday night’s encounter on the Acquaviva court, Pennarossa and Murata served up a thrilling, hard-fought contest right to the final whistle. In the end it was the Bianconeri who prevailed, overturning an early two-goal deficit, defeating the Biancorossi and remaining – still unbeaten – at the top of the table. The first half in Acquaviva was entirely in favour of the side from Chiesanuova. Andrea Ceccoli broke the deadlock on 11 minutes and Danny Gasperoni doubled the lead shortly before the interval. Two goals down, Max Spada’s Murata reacted like a true contender. The fightback was launched by Matteo Moretti, who pulled one back on 39 minutes. Time ticked away until the 52nd minute, when Andrea Ercolani struck the equaliser. Just a minute later the Bianconeri’s comeback became more complicated as Danilo Busignani was shown a second yellow card. Pennarossa, however, were unable to make their power play count and, deep into added time, Murata struck again: Moretti netted his second of the night to make it 3–2 and seal a precious victory for his side. In the table, the Bianconeri stay top, four points clear of La Fiorita, while Pennarossa – tasting defeat for the first time after 12 straight wins – slip to third, six points off the summit.
