Futsal: Murata out to seal second final spot, Pennarossa-La Fiorita wide open

The last bend before the final straight in the 2024-25 San Marino Futsal Championship play-offs. First onto the court for the second leg – tomorrow evening at the Multieventi – will be Virtus and Murata. The tie looks almost decided after last Wednesday’s 60 minutes, when the Bianconeri swept their opponents aside with a 6-0 scoreline. Michelotti’s Virtus will need a sporting miracle to turn around what is, in footballing terms, a desperate situation: only a win by seven clear goals or more would see the Acquaviva club through to the grand final on 4 June at the Multieventi. With one foot and a half already in the title decider, Massimiliano Spada may even consider managing the workload of his key players, in order to prevent any possible fitness issues.

 Everything is still to play for, and the tie between Pennarossa and La Fiorita remains completely open. The second semi-final resumes from the 2-2 draw played out last Thursday. It is a delicate balance which, if it were to be maintained on Tuesday evening at the Multieventi, would reward the Chiesanuova club thanks to their better placing in the regular season. In short, Traviglia’s side have no alternative but victory. The Gialloblù will have to start much better than they did in the first leg, when they found themselves 0-2 down between the 15th and 18th minute. The only player one booking away from suspension is Samuel Toccaceli: the San Marino winger will need to measure his challenges carefully, as another yellow card would rule him out of the next match.
