Futsal: Murata run riot, Pennarossa up to 2nd, Virtus and Domagnano win

Matchday 16 of the San Marino Futsal Championship – the first of the second half of the season – showcases a Murata side in peak form, sweeping aside Libertas and staying top of the table. A real show of strength from the Bianconeri of Max Spada who, in Dogana against Libertas, cruise to an emphatic 23-0 victory. Nine goals in the first half, a further fourteen after the break. Star of the show is Danilo Busignani, who crowns his return after a long lay-off with seven goals (taking him immediately to the top of the scoring charts with 22 goals in just 8 appearances). In the rout there are also hat-tricks from Belloni, Mattioli and Capicchioni, braces from De Angelis and Ghiotti, and single goals from Casadei, Cesarini and Moretti. It is Murata’s fourteenth win of the season, keeping them firmly in command on 43 points. Libertas remain bottom with just 3 points to their name. Behind the Bianconeri sit Pennarossa, who take advantage of La Fiorita’s bye week to leapfrog them and move into second place, thanks to a 4-2 victory over Juvenes-Dogana. The first half belongs to the Biancorossi, who go in 3-0 up courtesy of Maiani and Gasperoni (a brace for him). After the restart Verri adds a fourth (50'), then Cavalli and Mularoni pull a couple back for the Dogana side, but it’s too late for Levani and his men, who see a three-game unbeaten run come to an end. Virtus also claimed victory last night, their third in a row, as they overcame Fiorentino in Dogana. It is a routine outing for Matteo Michelotti’s Neroverdi against his former club, and the 7-1 final score consolidates their hold on fourth place. The deadlock is broken on 21 minutes by Elia Pasqualini, before Pascucci doubles the advantage just before half-time. Early in the second half Virtus stretch their lead through Di Maio and again Pasqualini, then Gasperoni finds the net for Gianni Galli’s Rossoblu. It changes little, as the Acquaviva club finish the job with further goals from Cevoli, Di Maio and Stacchini. Despite the defeat, Fiorentino remain seventh, awaiting Folgore – two points back and in action tomorrow night at the Multieventi against Cailungo. An important victory for Domagnano, who halt a run of two straight defeats and move temporarily up to fifth place (+1 on Tre Penne, who play this evening in Acquaviva against Cosmos). The Dogana clash with San Giovanni is only unlocked in the closing stages. The man to break down the Rossoneri for Gasperoni’s side is Kevin Vagnini, who strikes on 55 minutes, before goals from captain Menghi and Gatti in stoppage time wrap it up. Franchino’s team – beaten for the second game running – remain second from bottom in the group. The only draw of the evening comes between Faetano and Tre Fiori. Early on, Alex Maiani puts the Fiorentino-based side ahead, but Moroni quickly replies for 1-1. Before the interval, Mattia Michelotti restores Tre Fiori’s lead, but an own goal in the second half (44') by Michele Zanotti sets the final score at 2-2. A point that moves both teams up the table and keeps them in the post-season spots (Tre Fiori ninth, Faetano twelfth). As already mentioned, Matchday 16 of the futsal championship sees this evening at the Acquaviva sports hall the fixture between Cosmos and Tre Penne (21:45), while tomorrow on the Multieventi court Cailungo and Folgore will go head to head (21:45).
