Futsal: Murata crowned winter champions with sixteen goals against Faetano
After this evening’s late fixture between Domagnano and Tre Penne, scheduled at the Acquaviva sports hall at 21:45, the first half of the San Marino Futsal Championship will be complete. The leading quartet remains unchanged, with Murata continuing to set the pace and thus being confirmed as winter champions. The Bianconeri overwhelmed Faetano, hitting them for sixteen. Capicchioni scored twice, Cesarini and Mattioli both netted hat-tricks, while Moretti found the net on four occasions (including from the penalty spot). The 16-0 scoreline was completed by goals from Littera, Belloni, Albani and Ghiotti.
The gaps at the top of the table are unchanged thanks to the simultaneous wins for La Fiorita, Pennarossa and Virtus. Just a whisker behind Murata, La Fiorita recorded a 6-1 victory over Cosmos. The three points were effectively sealed in the first half, courtesy of a Chezzi hat-trick and a goal from Giuccioli to make it 2-0 at that stage. After the break there was still room on the scoresheet for Matteo Chezzi and his namesake Simone. The yellow-green consolation goal was scored by Cecchetti in the 51st minute. Virtus hit double figures, putting ten past Libertas. Michelotti’s side shared the goals evenly between the two halves, with hat-tricks for Pasqualini and Tassitano. Also on target were Stacchini, Pazzaglia, Stolfi and Pascucci. Completing the group of Murata’s pursuers is Pennarossa, currently third in the standings. Novembrini’s men brushed aside the San Giovanni obstacle with an 8-0 win. For the Chiesanuova club, Cappelli, Colonna and Stefanelli all scored, in addition to a brace from Maiani and a hat-trick from Verri.
Besides tonight’s clash, which will shed more light on the contenders for fifth place, it is worth noting the return to winning ways for Fiorentino. The Rossoblù ran out 2-0 winners over Cailungo thanks to late strikes from Bernardi and Paoloni in the final quarter of an hour. Meanwhile, honours were even in the Serravalle derby between Juvenes-Dogana and Folgore. The result left a bitter taste for the side coached by former player Claudio Zonzini, who had taken a two-goal lead through a Casali brace. An own goal by Romano and a stoppage-time finish from Simone Celli spared defeat for the Biancorossoazzurri, who remain firmly in the thick of the battle with four other teams for positions between seventh and eleventh.
Below that threshold there is only one spot left to access the postseason. At present it is a battle between Cailungo and Faetano, level on eight points. San Giovanni are aiming to close the four-point gap, perhaps capitalising on the head-to-head meetings. At the bottom sit Libertas, who, with just three points, need to climb the table and move above at least three of the sides currently ahead of them.
