Futsal: one half is enough for Pennarossa as Domagnano wake up too late

After back-to-back draws (one in the league and one in the cup), Pennarossa return to winning ways by sweeping aside Domagnano in the final fixture of Matchday 24, restoring their cushion over La Fiorita, who had briefly closed the gap in the race for second on Monday. Novembrini’s side come flying out of the blocks on the Multieventi court: after 6 minutes it’s already 2-0, thanks to Toccaceli’s back‑heel finish from Maiani’s assist and Verri’s tap‑in after Menghi had beaten Gasperoni to the ball almost on the line. Gasperoni then comes close to a third, finishing off a perfectly executed corner routine. At the other end, Bizzocchi has to come a long way off his line to stop Davide Dolcini racing through on goal. On 11 minutes Pennarossa make it 3-0: Oddone shakes free on the flank with a piece of magic and then dinks the ball over the onrushing Muraccini with another touch of real quality. Soon after, Oddone produces another piece of skill down the left and lets fly with a venomous effort, this time dealt with by the Lupi goalkeeper. Muraccini also has to excel to keep out Toccaceli’s left‑foot strike, but there’s nothing he can do when Gatti, unfortunately for him, deflects into his own net a fierce ball driven across to the far post by Gasperoni. Domagnano show some signs of life with a thunderous effort from Bollini that looks destined for the top corner, but Bizzocchi is alert and tips it away. Before long Pennarossa hit their fifth, as Gasperoni powers down the left and beats Muraccini with a delicate touch. Domagnano grow into the game towards the end of the half. Three key saves from Bizzocchi – on Villa’s toe‑poke, on Filippo Dolcini’s volleyed right‑footer and again on a Villa free‑kick – are crucial for the Chiesanuova outfit to reach the interval with a clean sheet intact.

The second half begins with a familiar scene: Oddone dribbling down the flank and going for goal, this time denied by Muraccini rushing out. Domagnano, however, show a very different attitude from the first period. The Lupi’s immediate reply turns into their best chance up to that point. Davide Dolcini works the ball on the right and picks out the perfect run of Villa, who, one‑on‑one with Bizzocchi, aims for the far corner, only to see the Pennarossa keeper stretch out a leg to preserve his clean sheet yet again. Villa tries again from a dead ball, but without success and without requiring a save from Bizzocchi. At the other end, Pennarossa are dangerous again from a corner: Verri times his run well but glances his effort wide. Maiani curls a right‑footer just past the far post, and a few minutes later Verri once more finds himself face to face with Muraccini, but his diagonal finish is too tight. Gatti’s goal‑line clearance to stop Toccaceli’s lob is the final act of this phase of heavy red‑and‑white dominance. Domagnano hold firm and hit back, and this time the response brings the 5-1 goal. From a throw‑in, Vagnini looks for Menghi: the Giallorossi captain completes the one‑two and sends his team‑mate through on Bizzocchi, beaten with a perfectly timed toe‑poke. Fabio Gasperoni’s side are not content with just a consolation. Bollini hits the side‑netting with a powerful right‑footer from a tight angle, then tests Bizzocchi from distance. There is work too for Muraccini, who is first beaten to the ball – in saving fashion – by Davide Dolcini, and then has to deal personally with Oddone’s driven left‑foot strike across goal. Domagnano, in any case, give as good as they get. Davide Dolcini spins away from Oddone and lets fly from a promising position, but Bizzocchi is equal to it. The scoreline remains unchanged at the final whistle: Domagnano suffer a second straight defeat and see their cushion over Virtus and Tre Penne reduced, as well as losing a third of the advantage they held over Cosmos up to Monday afternoon, with the latter now looming just six points behind.
