Futsal: Pennarossa win the big match, La Fiorita beaten and 2nd place secured
The top-of-the-table clash on the 18th matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal goes to Pennarossa, who edge out La Fiorita: the 3-2 final score in Dogana lifts the Biancorossi into second place on their own. The match starts at a high tempo, with Paolo Verri quickly breaking the deadlock for the Chiesanuova side. Before the interval he strikes again, steering the game firmly in the right direction for Novembrini and his men. Early in the second half it is once more Verri – who completes his hat-trick – to find the net for a temporary 3-0 lead. La Fiorita react and, on 44 minutes, Giuccioli pulls one back; then, in the closing stages – also helped by a red card shown to Andrea Ceccoli – Fumia makes it 3-2 and sets up a fiery finale. In the 60th minute, however, the Gialloblu goalkeeper Andreani is sent off, allowing Pennarossa to manage their narrow advantage to the whistle. La Fiorita’s ten-game winning streak comes to an end, but they remain fourth, level on points with Virtus.
Leaders Murata take full advantage as they have no problems claiming all three points against Tre Fiori. The Bianconeri run riot in the first half, scoring six times. After the break the scoreline becomes even heavier, ending 8-0. On the scoresheet are Belloni (four goals), Moretti (hat-trick) and Ercolani. With a fifteenth consecutive victory, Murata stretch their lead to six points over Pennarossa.
Virtus also profit from La Fiorita’s defeat. Matteo Michelotti’s Neroverdi run out 4-1 winners over Folgore, who suffer a second straight loss. In the first half Di Maio and Cevoli find the net, with the latter making it 3-0 at the start of the second half. A Muccioli own goal further increases the margin for Virtus, who then concede a consolation goal at the end – another own goal, this time by former player Juri Biordi. The Acquaviva side draw level with La Fiorita in third place, just one point behind second-placed Pennarossa.
The fine run of Tre Penne also continues as they record a comprehensive win over Faetano at the Multieventi. Early on there is a quick exchange of goals between Bacciocchi and Beinat, before the Biancoazzurri pull away. Before half-time Sabatino scores twice; then in the second half – with Faetano reduced to ten after a red card for Caruso – Beinat (who completes his hat-trick) and Ercolani wrap up the win for Penserini’s Biancoazzurri. El Attar pulls one back late on, but it is not enough to prevent Faetano from suffering a second defeat in a row.
Domagnano’s slip-up is also a notable result, as their two-game winning streak comes to an end. Cosmos are the ones celebrating, returning to victory after two draws and a wait that stretched back to 12 December. In Fiorentino it is the Gialloverdi who open the scoring through Ceccaroli, only for Filippo Dolcini to level matters. Molinas restores the lead for Muccioli’s side and, late on, Guerra seals the 3-1 result. In the table Domagnano remain steady in sixth place, while Cosmos climb up to seventh, overtaking Fiorentino and Folgore.
A huge win – even hitting double figures – for Juvenes-Dogana, who sweep aside Libertas. In Domagnano there is effectively no contest, despite a first phase that seems fairly balanced. Thomas Celli and Mularoni put Juvenes-Dogana two up before Podeschi halves the deficit for the Granata. Then Levani’s side truly hit their stride and the goals arrive: the first half ends 8-1 and the second half takes it up to a final 12-1. There are six different scorers: a four-goal haul for Mularoni, braces for Simone Celli, Bologna and Marinelli, and single goals from Thomas Celli and Muccioli. This win – their first since 13 January – lifts Juvenes-Dogana into tenth place; Libertas, beaten for the fourth match running, remain bottom of the table.
The 18th matchday of the league will conclude tomorrow evening (21:45) with the late fixture at the Multieventi between San Giovanni and Cailungo, with crucial points at stake in the race for the post-season.
