Futsal: playoff decider between Cailungo and Faetano

Matchday 19 of the San Marino Futsal Championship – to be played between tomorrow and Tuesday 18 February – features a playoff showdown between Cailungo and Faetano. The Red and Greens and the Yellow and Blues will face off in Dogana (kick-off at 21:45) in a crucial clash in the race for the post-season. At the moment Cailungo sit in twelfth place – the last spot granting access to the playoffs – but with only a two-point cushion over Faetano. A win for the Yellow and Blues would turn everything on its head and reignite Corbelli’s team. Murata still lead the way, unbeaten and chasing a seventeenth win in eighteen matches. The Bianconeri will be on court tomorrow in Fiorentino at 20:15 against San Giovanni: the Rossoneri are second from bottom and will try to contain the overwhelming attacking power of Max Spada’s side, who are averaging eight goals per game. Six points behind the leaders are Pennarossa who, thanks to their win over La Fiorita in the last round, moved up to second place. Novembrini’s Biancorossi will take on Libertas in Tuesday night’s late game at the Acquaviva sports hall (21:45). The Granata come into it on the back of four straight defeats and, with only three points collected all season, remain rooted to the bottom. Just one point behind Pennarossa, rounding out the Fab Four are Virtus and La Fiorita, level on points. Michelotti’s Neroverdi will face a tough nut to crack in Cosmos, who are coming off an impressive victory over Domagnano. The Gialloverdi, unbeaten in three, sit seventh and will look to trouble the Acquaviva club. The match will be played tomorrow in Dogana at 20:15. La Fiorita also have a tricky opponent as they look to bounce back from their defeat to Pennarossa. For the Yellow and Blues it’s Tre Penne next (Domagnano, 21:15), one of the in-form sides in the league. The Biancoazzurri are unbeaten in five (four wins and a draw), and a potential victory would allow them to reopen the race for fourth place – currently 8 points away – which guarantees direct qualification for the playoffs. It’s a difficult spell too for Domagnano and Tre Fiori, who meet tomorrow in Fiorentino at 21:45. The Giallorossi – recently beaten by Cosmos – have recorded just two wins in their last five, while it’s even worse for the Yellow and Blues, with only one victory in their last five. In the table Domagnano are still sixth, while Tre Fiori – eleventh – must watch out for Cailungo’s push from behind. A mid-table duel awaits between Fiorentino and Juvenes-Dogana, on court tomorrow night at 21:45 on the Multieventi parquet. Just a single point separates the two sides, with the Rossoblu ahead of the Dogana club, but both are comfortably in the playoff zone. Folgore will observe their rest round.
