Futsal: Rampant Pennarossa in the late fixture, tomorrow the clashes of matchday 20

With an attacking output that was euphemistically abundant, Pennarossa made light work of Libertas and successfully completed their mission to extend their lead over third place. A sensational scoreline took shape at the Acquaviva gym: 33-2. On the maroon side of the scoresheet there is only Pieri, who netted a brace. On the red-and-white side, Oddone particularly stood out with seven goals; also in fine form were Toccaceli, Verri and Colonna with four goals each, Brighi and Gasperoni with three apiece, as well as Baldani, Carlini and Stefanelli with two each. Rounding things off were single strikes from Giacobbi and Cappelli. After forty-eight hours to catch their breath, Pennarossa and Libertas, along with all the other teams in the league except Faetano, will be back on court for matchday 20. In Thursday’s packed schedule, which has no late fixtures, Pennarossa will face Tre Fiori – recently closed down on by Cailungo – in the first game in Domagnano, followed by the meeting between Folgore, coming off their rest round, and Domagnano, who are chasing Tre Penne. Penserini’s side, for their part, are enjoying a sparkling run of form and will take on Fiorentino, who have recently slipped a place in the table and are eager to celebrate a win again after going without for four matches. On the same pitch in Fiorentino, Virtus will try to stitch up the wounds from last Monday by aiming to beat a Cailungo side fired up by the emphatic victory achieved at Faetano’s expense, which also allowed them to defend 12th place and move significantly closer to 11th. Faetano’s rest round also gives Venerucci’s team the chance to put further safe distance between themselves and the relegation mire of the Single Group. A relegation mire which still includes San Giovanni, up against another high-ranking side looking for redemption, La Fiorita. After the clash between the Gialloblù and the Rossoneri, the Dogana venue will host Cosmos-Libertas: the former riding the wave of two consecutive wins, the latest a high-prestige success over Virtus, while the latter carry on their shoulders a run of defeats that calls for a strong response. Rounding off Thursday’s league programme is the only indoor fixture, between Juvenes-Dogana, who have recently climbed to 8th place thanks to two wins in a row, and Murata, still firmly at the top of the Single Group standings and so far the only unbeaten team in the competition.
