Futsal: relentless Murata overpower Cosmos

Murata stay on track and, thanks to their 23rd win in 24 games, remain firmly at the top of the San Marino Futsal Championship. In yesterday evening’s clash on the Multieventi court, Spada’s side ran out 7-1 winners over Cosmos. The deadlock was broken on 11 minutes, when Busignani combined with Ercolani, who went past Guerra and beat Serafini at the near post. Muccioli’s Cosmos, however, kept fighting and, ten minutes later, drew level through Bacciocchi, who broke away towards Casadei and slotted past him as he came out. The equaliser did not last long because, a few minutes later, Murata were back in front: once again the Busignani-Ercolani axis proved decisive, as the former’s shot-cross found the latter, who could not miss from close range. The first half then ended with the Bianconeri two goals up: an elegant sole touch from Ercolani set up Busignani to shoot on goal, and his effort was turned into the net by Ceccaroli for an own goal to make it 3-1.

After the break, Murata began to stretch their lead with a fourth goal: a poor throw-out by Serafini proved costly, as the ball was intercepted by Busignani, who then unleashed a right-footed strike giving the yellow-green keeper no chance. Moretti also got on the scoresheet shortly afterwards, making the most of the space given to him by the yellow-green defence to beat Serafini from distance with a powerful and accurate right-footer. The sixth goal also bore Moretti’s name, as he took full advantage of a fine assist from De Angelis to score into an unguarded net. The only blot on Murata’s night was the injury to goalkeeper Casadei, sustained with 5 minutes remaining. In the closing stages Spada played the Busignani card as flying goalkeeper. That choice also paid off for the Sammarinese striker, who found the net on 59 minutes with an easy finish from close range. At the Multieventi it finished 7-1 to Murata, who stay top, eight points clear of Pennarossa. Cosmos, meanwhile, remain in seventh place.
