Futsal: tomorrow everyone on court for the final round of the regular season

The 30th and final round of the regular season in the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal will all be played tomorrow evening. The top four in the table, who go straight into the play-offs, are already confirmed, as are the teams from fifth to twelfth place, who will then battle it out in the Preliminary Round to keep their post-season hopes alive.

 One of the most intriguing clashes will be at the Multieventi, where Folgore take on Juvenes-Dogana, kick-off at 21:45. Both already sure of a place in the post-season, the two clubs from the castle of Serravalle will battle it out for eleventh place (at the moment the Giallorossoneri are one point ahead of their “cousins”). Folgore come into it on the back of three consecutive wins, while Juvenes-Dogana have taken four points from their last two matches.

One point ahead of Folgore are Fiorentino, who tomorrow face Cailungo (Fiorentino, 21:45). A win would see the Rossoblu overtake Tre Fiori – currently one point ahead but idle this round – and move up to eighth place. Cailungo, for their part, have already booked their place in the post-season and are certain of finishing 12th.

Also in Fiorentino, but at 20:15, Pennarossa and San Giovanni will go head-to-head. It is almost a top-versus-bottom clash between the Biancorossi – guaranteed second place – and the Rossoneri, second from bottom and now out of contention. Pennarossa are on a five-game winning streak (eleven positive results in a row), while San Giovanni, with a win, could even overtake Faetano – one point ahead of the Rossoneri – and finish the season on a high note.

It is a delicate match also for Faetano, who take on the powerhouse – and current leaders – Murata. The Bianconeri’s numbers are astonishing (over 200 goals scored, 26 wins and just one draw) and they will want to complete the regular season unbeaten. Kick-off in Domagnano is at 20:15.

Later, at 21:45 on the same pitch, there will be a play-off-flavoured duel between Tre Penne and Domagnano. The Biancoazzurri from Città are sure of fifth place, as are the Lupi of sixth, but both sides come into it after a defeat (Tre Penne have actually lost their last two).

In Dogana, proceedings get under way at 20:15 with the meeting between Cosmos and La Fiorita. The Montegiardino side – third and already in the play-offs – saw their positive run ended in the last round, while the Serravalle club – certain of seventh place – have managed just one win in their last five outings.

Action continues at 21:45 with Virtus v Libertas. The Acquaviva side, with their victory in the last round, have sealed fourth place, while the Granata are coming off an excellent win – their second of the season – recorded a week ago against Faetano. Libertas, however, will finish the year in last place in the group.

 At the end of the regular season, the next appointments in the futsal championship will be on Thursday 8 May with the first legs of the Preliminary Round. Three days earlier – on Monday 5 May – the Titano Futsal Cup final between Murata and Pennarossa will be played at the Multieventi.
