Futsal: top four go head-to-head on matchday seven

Matchday seven of the San Marino Futsal Championship promises to be particularly intriguing. The new round, scheduled entirely for tomorrow evening, in fact features direct clashes between the top four in the table. The league leaders Virtus, still with a perfect record, will take on Pennarossa: the Biancorossi currently sit fourth, five points off the summit, and come into the game on the back of three consecutive wins. The match is scheduled for 21:45 in Dogana, while earlier on the same court (20:15) there will be the other big showdown of the day between Murata and Domagnano. The Bianconeri and Giallorossi are level on 16 points, just two behind leaders Virtus. The paths of the two sides are identical (five wins and one draw), with Murata boasting the best attack (47 goals, led by the Busignani-Moretti partnership), while Domagnano can rely on the second-best defence (7 goals conceded). Just behind the top four, both La Fiorita and Tre Penne will be looking to close the gap – with both teams coming off defeats in the previous round. The Montegiardino side will be in action in Fiorentino (21:45) against a Tre Fiori in full crisis: Luca Pollini’s Gialloblu are in fact coming off five defeats in a row. The clash between Tre Penne and Cailungo (21:45, Domagnano) looks more finely balanced: the Rossoverdi have been inconsistent but arrive on the back of an excellent win over Libertas, which took them to 8 points (just behind Tre Penne and La Fiorita, both on 12). After last week’s victory over Tre Penne, Folgore and coach Claudio Zonzini will also be aiming to extend their positive run when they face Faetano tomorrow (Domagnano, 20:15). Elmiro Corbelli’s Gialloblu remain stuck on a single point and are still chasing their first win of the season. Also targeting a win, which has been missing for three rounds now, is Fiorentino: the reigning champions will take to the court at 21:45 on the Acquaviva parquet – the only indoor fixture of the evening – against Libertas, currently bottom of the table and the only side yet to pick up a point. However, the Rossoblu will be without goalkeeper Geri, suspended for one match by the Sports Judge. Also in action – at 20:15 in Fiorentino – are Cosmos and San Giovanni. The Gialloverdi from Serravalle – coached by Federico Muccioli – recorded their first win of the season in the last round, something that Salvatore Franchino’s Rossoneri are still chasing after four consecutive defeats. Juvenes-Dogana will sit out this round with their scheduled bye. Here is the programme for matchday 7 of the 2024-25 San Marino Futsal Championship: Click here for the updated table
