Futsal: Tre Fiori hit three early, Matchday 12 concludes tonight
The early fixture of Matchday 12 of the Campionato Sammarinese goes Tre Fiori’s way. Pollini’s side, in action last night at the Multieventi against San Giovanni, ran out 3-0 winners. After a first half that was more balanced than the second, the Gialloblù broke the deadlock through Maiani. Earlier, Fiorentino’s team had gone close on several occasions with their winger, who in the 3rd minute saw his effort blocked by Valentini. The goalkeeper then sparked San Giovanni’s reply, picking out Severi behind his marker: first touch and instant right-foot shot, with Costantini’s recovery clearance taking centre stage. There was a quick exchange of blows on 27 minutes, starting from Tamagnini’s effort. Valentini held it at the second attempt and launched the counter, finished off by Zafferani’s diagonal. Gori saved and Tre Fiori turned defence into attack again, freeing Maiani one-on-one with the keeper. The winger showed a lack of composure, firing wide from point-blank range. Redemption, however, was only a couple of minutes away – the time it took to capitalise on a counter-attack triggered by Michelotti’s interception in the centre of the area and a slice of good fortune, as Amici inadvertently deflected an attempted clearance by Volpinari – the last man. From there, Tamagnini kept his cool to lay the ball on a plate for Maiani, who only had to tap it in, with Valentini taken out of the game by the pass.
After the break it was all Tre Fiori, with Podeschi going very close on 31 minutes. To keep out his close-range diagonal, Agostini had to be at his very best, having in the meantime replaced Valentini in the San Giovanni goal. After a long, cagey phase, the Gialloblù were back to testing Agostini through the Zanotti-Costantini combination, but the Rossoneri keeper was once again decisive. His team-mates, for their part, tried their luck through Severi and Volpinari, without success. From a move that started with the latter, Tre Fiori doubled their lead on the counter. The one-two between Costantini and Podeschi was flawless, with the latter reaping the rewards of his team-mate’s unselfishness to make it 2-0 into an empty net. San Giovanni felt the blow and came close to further punishment with Giorgini’s close-range effort, and he did get on the scoresheet a minute later with a solo move, helped by a communication error in the opposing defence. The Rossoneri were unable to sugar-coat their tenth defeat of the season – missing a 10-metre free-kick through Severi, denied by Gori in the 58th minute. Conversely, it was an important win for Tre Fiori, who move up to 12 points, level with Cosmos – albeit having played two games more.
