Futsal: Tre Fiori v Murata with third place on the line

There is no doubt that the clash between Tre Fiori and Murata is the most intriguing fixture on the penultimate matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal. Bugli and Cellarosi’s sides go into the head‑to‑head level on points in third place after the Gialloblù’s midweek defeat in the rescheduled match (2-5 against Folgore). Since the reverse fixture ended in a draw, whoever comes out on top tomorrow night will take over third place in the table. Another draw, instead, would mean overall goal difference decides it, with Tre Fiori currently five goals to the good. The standout tie of Matchday 29 in the regular season will be played in Dogana, kicking off at 20:15. Following that, on the same court, comes the Borgo Maggiore derby between Libertas and Cailungo. The Granata go in as clear favourites in a match that represents the last chance for their cousins to realistically think about re-entering the race for twelfth place. The Rossoverdi will need a miracle, currently five points behind Pennarossa with only two matches left in which to build their comeback dream. The Chiesanuova club face Juvenes-Dogana, arguably the in‑form team of recent weeks. Now up to fifth place – held for the moment thanks to their head‑to‑head record with La Fiorita – Levani’s side want to close out the season with two wins to cement their position. That encounter will be played in Domagnano at 21:45, shortly after the expected Fiorentino victory in the top‑versus‑bottom meeting with Faetano. With Folgore sitting this round out, Michelotti’s team will have the chance to secure first place in the regular season. Virtus and La Fiorita will face off in Fiorentino. The Neroverdi returned to winning ways after three games without a victory, while the Montegiardino side come into it on the back of two straight defeats which have cost them fifth place – now to be chased down to the very last matchday in their long‑distance duel with Juvenes-Dogana, who hold the advantage on head‑to‑head results. Pollini’s men need a point to be sure of keeping seventh place, assuming Domagnano win both of their remaining fixtures. For Gasperoni’s team, tomorrow brings a second straight indoor outing at the Multieventi: their opponents will be Tre Penne, who would draw level with the Wolves in eighth place with a win. The side from Città would need a very big victory to move ahead on head‑to‑head, given the 5-0 with which the Giallorossi took the reverse fixture. Effectively devoid of real stakes is the match that will close the Fiorentino programme, between Cosmos and San Giovanni. The Gialloverdi are practically certain of a play-off berth, while the Borgo Maggiore club have long since been out of the running.
