Futsal: two familiar clashes in Domagnano, Wolves test for Virtus

A busy futsal week is about to begin and – between league and cup – it will twice offer the same fixture within just a handful of days. This refers to Tre Penne v Juvenes-Dogana and Fiorentino v Pennarossa, encounters already seen in the first legs of the Titano Futsal Cup round of 16 and also scheduled for tomorrow, on an evening entirely dedicated to the 4th league matchday. There was no balance in the cup: Pennarossa won 7-4 and Juvenes-Dogana 4-0. The second legs will be played on Thursday 23 October, but in the meantime, as mentioned, these sides will also be battling for league points, starting with the Tre Penne v Juvenes-Dogana clash that opens the programme at the Domagnano venue. The Biancoazzurri have a 100% record and intend to keep it, also to fuel a cup comeback which is currently very difficult but not impossible. Cellarosi’s team, on the other hand, have been struggling in the league, but recently got off the mark with their first point and, mindful of the previous meeting with Tre Penne, will be able to look their opponents in the eye without any kind of awe. Also in Domagnano, but at 21:45, the other aforementioned match will kick off: Pennarossa are looking for an immediate reaction after the slight slip-up against Libertas, while Fiorentino showed signs of recovery in their last outing against Tre Penne but are still under strong pressure to erase the zero in the table. Coach Marco Screti will not be on the Rossoblù bench, having been handed a two-match ban by the Sporting Judge.

Another side still completely without points are Faetano, who will face, in Acquaviva (20:45), a Folgore team coming off two positive results in a row but which this week had to say goodbye to the coach who had led them so far, Antonio D’Amico. On goal difference, the team currently bottom of the standings are Tre Fiori. Gianni Galli’s boys are therefore those most in need of giving their season a sharp turn. They will pursue that mission tomorrow against a Libertas side which, just like Folgore, have put together a win and a draw in their last two games, and which are full of self-belief after stopping a top-tier team like Pennarossa. Once again the stage for the match, scheduled for 21:45, will be the Acquaviva outdoor pitch.

In Dogana, Cosmos will try to bounce back from their first defeat of the season, suffered at the hands of Virtus who, moreover, also forced Franchino’s team to concede their first goals of the campaign. The tests, however, remain tough in this period, because the next opponents for the Gialloverdi go by the name of Murata, a team that have now seemingly forgotten how to conjugate the verb “to lose”. Afterwards comes the meeting between a flying Virtus with a perfect record and a Domagnano wounded by the draw with Cailungo but, like Michelotti’s Neroverdi, still unbeaten. Rounding off the 4th matchday programme is the only indoor fixture, Cailungo v San Giovanni. The Borgo Maggiore derby pits, on one side, the Rossoverdi who managed to get going again after two defeats and, on the other, the Rossoneri – fresher (they were idle last matchday) and also higher up the table thanks to their opening win over Faetano. Kick-off is at 22:00. La Fiorita have a bye week.

This is the schedule for the 4th league matchday:
