Futsal: valuable win for Tre Penne, Tre Fiori and Juvenes-Dogana run riot

While awaiting Fiorentino-Folgore, scheduled this evening at the Multieventi at 21:30, last night’s 28th matchday of the San Marino Futsal Championship mainly smiled on Tre Penne, who claimed a valuable win in the race for the play-offs. Gianni Galli’s side beat Pennarossa 2-0 thanks to goals from Dinatale and Manzaroli and are now fully in the mix for a post-season spot. The team from Città are currently 12th and made the most of the slip-ups by San Giovanni, Cailungo and Faetano. Gualtieri’s Rossoneri were in action in Dogana against Tre Fiori: it ended in a heavy 14-0 defeat, with Fiorentino’s Gialloblù recording yet another win on the bounce and tightening their grip on third place. In the rout of San Giovanni – with seven goals in each half – the scorers were Verri (four goals), Cecchini, Simoncini and Gasperoni (all three with hat-tricks), plus Michele Casadei. The Rossoneri, however, must not lose heart, as they are still in the hunt for the play-offs (they are currently level on points with the aforementioned Tre Penne). Cailungo also lose ground, going down 5-2 to Virtus. Luca Pollini’s Neroverdi broke the deadlock in the first half through Sensoli and Rossini, then extended their lead after the break with Paolo Casadei, Morganti and Zamboni. Cailungo’s reaction came too late, with a late brace from Jacopo Gamba not enough for Michele Bollini’s men to avoid defeat. The Rossoverdi can still hope, above all with this week’s must-win direct clash with Murata. Faetano also fail to find joy at the bottom, having to give way to Juvenes-Dogana. Zonzini’s side, firmly established in seventh place, picked up a win that had been missing since 20 March, doing so with as many as 10 goals: with five goals per half, the scorers were Enrico Muraro (hat-trick), doubles from Chezzi and Alessandro Zonzini, and goals by Borasco, Muccioli and Quaranta. Faetano’s hopes are hanging by a thread: they are five points off the play-offs but still have two games left to play. The only draw of the evening came between Domagnano and Murata. All the goals arrived after the interval: Mattia Villa put the Giallorossi ahead in the 48th minute, but shortly afterwards Andrea Capicchioni replied to make it 1-1, which would prove to be the final score. Late on, Morri struck the post from the penalty spot for Domagnano. The draw suits Murata more, with the Bianconeri solid in 11th place but still looking over their shoulders at the chasers, while the Giallorossi remain sixth. La Fiorita, meanwhile, claimed their third win in a row, with Libertas paying the price – although the Granata are already sure of a play-off berth thanks to their current 10th place. In Fiorentino, Davide Ghiotti’s side opened the scoring early on through Fabio Belloni, who then doubled the lead at the start of the second half. Burioni quickly pulled one back, but Belloni was in sparkling form and, near the end, completed his hat-trick with the 3-1 goal that settled the contest. La Fiorita remain fourth, four points clear of Virtus (who will be idle next round). This evening, as mentioned, the 28th matchday will conclude with the big clash between Fiorentino and Folgore at the Multieventi, with Michelotti’s Rossoblù still top of the table, five points clear of the reigning champions. Then they will be back on court in midweek for the penultimate matchday, to be played on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 April.
