Futsal: Virtus and Tre Penne riding high, Pennarossa pegged back at the death

The announced big match of the second league round ends in a spectacular 3-3 draw. Both Murata and Pennarossa, winners on opening day, were chasing a perfect start, but in the end have to settle for a point each. Chiesanuova go in front just before the quarter-hour mark through Francioni, and that 1-0 lead holds up deep into the second half. Here Moretti – who had seen a 10-metre free kick saved by Bizzocchi in first-half stoppage time – finds the strike that makes it 1-1, only for Pennarossa to restore their advantage immediately through Maiani. Verri makes it 3-1 and looks to put Murata to bed, but instead the Bianconeri launch and complete the comeback between the 55th and 57th minutes thanks to goals from Ercolani and Mattioli. Virtus and Tre Penne move, for the moment, to the top of the table, the only sides with maximum points together with La Fiorita, who however have a game in hand. Traviglia’s side make a blistering debut: 9-2 against Faetano, who at 3-0 down had tried to get back into it with an Elattar brace, but then had to bow to the new waves crashing in from Montegiardino. Going in order, the early 3-0 is built inside the first 10 minutes with goals from Giuccioli, Carta and Chezzi. The latter rounds off his evening with three more goals, while Giuccioli completes his own brace straight after Elattar’s 3-2. In the second half, Pellegrini and Gualandi also get on the scoresheet. No points yet for Faetano and none either for Juvenes-Dogana, beaten by a Tre Penne side who, after their win over Cosmos, confirm themselves in excellent form. Dinatale’s own goal straight from kick-off seems to complicate Penserini’s plans, but they immediately make amends through the same Dinatale and then, after the break, pull away to claim another three points (six in total) thanks to Gamba and Cola, while Juvenes-Dogana’s night gets even worse with Chiaruzzi sent off. Virtus double up on their opening-day win by imposing a clear-cut 6-1 on Tre Fiori, packed with former players, including coach Pollini. In fact it is the Gialloblù who open the scoring at the Multieventi through Tamagnini, but in the closing minutes before half-time Virtus turn the match in their favour with goals from Cevoli and Di Maio. The latter also opens the score in the second half, before leaving room on the scoresheet to team-mates Pasqualini, Biordi and again Cevoli. With a goal from their own goalkeeper, Gian Luca Geri, Fiorentino settle the Cosmos tie (who lose Bacciocchi to a second yellow on 48 minutes) in the final stages of the game, thereby bouncing back from their opening-day defeat and effectively kick-starting their campaign as defending champions. The final score is 1-0, while both San Giovanni-Folgore and Cailungo-Domagnano finish 2-2. In the first 7 minutes the Wolves race into a 2-0 lead courtesy of a Menghi brace, only to concede Cailungo’s comeback, launched by Fellini and completed by Flammini, all before the half-time whistle. The second half yields no further goals, so Domagnano are checked after their opening win, while Cailungo get off the mark, moving to one point. The same haul for San Giovanni, who first take the lead through a Casali own goal, then are overtaken by Folgore (with a Bortolotto double), and finally restore parity through Zonzini.
