Futsal Week, in their second match the U19 Titans fall to Estonia

Following yesterday’s debut against Belgium, the Under-19 Futsal National Team took to the court this afternoon for the second match of the Futsal Week Winter Cup currently taking place in Poreč (Croatia). After yesterday’s defeat, Matteo Selva’s players faced Estonia: having lost their opening game 7-0 to Belgium, the Baltic side bounced back and got the better of the Biancazzurri with a 6-0 victory. Estonia moved in front in the 12th minute through Gussev, who then doubled the lead shortly afterwards. Bazakov and Gussev again (he would complete his hat-trick by the end) stretched the advantage to four, sending the Baltic team into the break 4-0 up. In the second half, a deadly one-two in the 25th minute, with two quick-fire goals from Agaptsev and then again from Bazakov (his personal brace), firmly steered the contest in Estonia’s favour. Tomorrow will see the final game of the tournament, in which San Marino will face either Latvia or Turkey.   It is also worth noting that Biancazzurri colours are also represented on the refereeing front at the futsal event in Poreč: ASA referee Sirio Lanuti was third referee in last Wednesday’s match between Belgium and Estonia (which, as mentioned, ended 7-0 to the Red Devils), first referee in yesterday’s clash between Latvia and Hungary (3-2 win for the Magyars), and finally second referee in today’s game between Turkey and Latvia.
