Futsal: wins all round for the Fab Four as Folgore and Cosmos pull away from Fiorentino
Folgore leave Fiorentino behind, getting the better of Libertas with the clock practically at zero in a game that turned out to be far more complicated than the table had suggested. The Granata remain on zero points, undone by a Casali strike two minutes into added time, just when the 1-1 scoreline – born of goals from Taddei and Ercolani – seemed destined for the record books. As mentioned, Fiorentino also fail to move, going down to leaders Murata. They fall behind on 16 minutes to a Paoloni goal but manage to turn it around between the 22nd and 40th minutes, when Moretti and then Ercolani get on the scoresheet. Paoloni himself, with an own goal, is – albeit against his will – the author of Murata’s 3-1, quickly tempered by Felici for a 3-2 scoreline that will also be the final result at the whistle. Murata win, but so do all of their closest pursuers. Pennarossa complete their Cailungo assignment without particular worries: Baldani, with a brace, puts the Biancorossi on the right track inside the first seven minutes, before Cailungo pull one back at the end of the first half through Flammini. Chiesanuova hit back with interest after the restart, racing away to 7-1. Maiani, Stefanelli, Gasperoni, Brighi and Ceccoli complete the rout. La Fiorita bring Domagnano’s positive run to an end with a 4-1 win in the second match played in Fiorentino. Matteo Chezzi opens the scoring and then strikes again to make it a provisional 4-0 after Baldelli’s first-half goal and Capone’s own goal in the second period. Filippo Dolcini nets the Lupi’s consolation, who remain fifth but are unable to gain any practical advantage from Tre Penne’s rest day, with the latter still breathing down their necks.
As for the places above, Virtus extend their lead over the Domagnano–Tre Penne duo, needing only a Tassitano goal to see off Juvenes-Dogana, who suffer a second consecutive defeat and are forced to acknowledge that Tre Fiori had already overtaken them in Wednesday’s early fixture. Like La Fiorita, Cosmos also celebrate a 4-1 win, the scoreline Muccioli’s men impose on Faetano to leapfrog Fiorentino in the table. It takes Guerra just one minute to put Cosmos ahead, but they are then made to endure an own goal from goalkeeper Serafini in the final third of the first half. Nothing that disturbs the focus and determination of the Gialloverdi, who are able to construct and seal their second win on the bounce thanks to a Molinas hat-trick, his show beginning on the stroke of half-time and concluding between the 44th and 55th minutes.
