Inclusive football: Friday’s triangular tournament with Around Sport, Football is Inclusion and Cesena

Last Friday, at the Cocif sports ground in Longiano (FC), the first triangular tournament of inclusive football took place between Around Sport from Savignano sul Rubicone, organiser of the event, Cesena and the youngsters involved in the San Marino FA’s Football is Inclusion project. More than sixty boys and girls were divided into eight teams that faced each other in matches and game-situation drills over ninety minutes of genuine sport, friendship, fun, competition and sharing. Together with the participants with disabilities involved in the project of the Federazione Sammarinese Giuoco Calcio, also taking part were the young footballers most representative of the San Marino Academy teams – likewise involved in the Football is Inclusion project. It was an opportunity for them to develop the values of empathy, sacrifice and the ability to support team-mates in greater difficulty, which are key elements in the pursuit of sporting performance, psychological well-being and personal and social growth. The next date of the triangular series is scheduled for Wednesday 2 April 2025 at the "Dino Manuzzi" Stadium in Cesena, before concluding at the San Marino Stadium with the final event dedicated to football for all.
