League: 15th matchday to be played tomorrow and Wednesday
The time has come to play the round postponed because of snow, which was originally scheduled for the second weekend of the year. There are three matches on the programme tomorrow evening, including live FIFA+ coverage of Faetano v Cosmos, and five more on Wednesday – when Virtus and Tre Fiori will be in action in a fresh long-distance duel with the title in their sights.
All eight fixtures in the rescheduled 15th matchday (effectively the twentieth game of the league campaign) will be available free of charge with Italian commentary on Titani.tv, while Faetano v Cosmos – as mentioned – will also be shown on FIFA’s streaming platform. Both sides are coming off important wins and will meet at 21:15 in Dogana: Cosmos, having drawn level with Fiorentino in seventh place, are looking to cement their position and close in on Domagnano just above them. For Sperindio’s men, after their sensational comeback against Cailungo, the focus is now on Libertas and Pennarossa – slightly ahead in the table and currently the last sides in the post-season positions. That target is in danger of slipping away from San Giovanni, who are five points adrift of the Chiesanuova outfit. Tognacci’s team face the tricky test posed by Tre Penne, whose form is second only to that of leaders Tre Fiori. Giovanni Bonini will have to do without Pastorelli, the Rossoneri counterpart to Calp and Vandi. Also on the pitch tomorrow are Juvenes Dogana, who take on Murata in Montecchio. The Bianconeri have lost ten league games in a row, while the Serravalle club have won just one of their last five. For Mancini’s youngsters, the play-off goal is now effectively postponed to next year, whereas Boldrini’s side still have the chance to go straight into the quarter-finals – sitting only two points off seventh place. Ruben Bello will miss out: the Murata defender received his eighth yellow card of the season last weekend.
There is a full programme on Wednesday evening, dominated above all by the simultaneous fixtures involving Tre Fiori and Virtus. The leaders travel to Acquaviva to face a Pennarossa in the midst of a results crisis. Ricchiuti’s team have been dragged dangerously within reach of Faetano, having already been overtaken by Libertas. It will not be easy to defend the last available post-season spot against the form side of the league. By the same token, it will be no simple task for Libertas to confirm their resurgence against Virtus: at the very least, the Granata can oppose the title holders with the momentum of ten points taken from their last four outings. Virtually half of their current total has been collected over the past twenty days by the Borgo Maggiore side. Virtus will be without Rinaldi at the back, as he is suspended.
The midweek schedule also includes two fixtures that look very evenly balanced on paper. San Marino Academy face Cailungo, with a realistic chance of drawing level with the Rossoverdi in the table. Both teams now appear to be out of the play-off race, with Benedetti’s men ten points off the pace. Their main aim will be to bounce back from Saturday’s comeback defeat, when they squandered a two-goal lead and were still 2-1 up in the 84th minute. On the other side, the Biancazzurrini – finally through a gruelling run of games against the top four – want to show that the progress made in recent weeks can also translate into an improved league position. While Mattia Ciacci returns to bolster the Academy’s defence, Montalti has been handed a ban by the sports judge and will be unavailable for Cailungo. Looking at the table, Folgore v Domagnano also promises to be a match that could hinge on fine details. Recent form, however, has been completely opposite: the Lupi, outstanding outsiders at the end of the calendar year, have collapsed in 2026 – picking up just a single draw from five matches. Over the same period, the Falciano club have gained seven points more, overtaking and pulling clear of their next opponents in the standings. For Amati’s Domagnano, getting back to picking up points is a must, because the risk of slipping into the Preliminary Round for access to the post-season is far from remote, given the recent results of their rivals. Also to be considered in this mini-group are Fiorentino: a tough assignment awaits Costantini’s side, who are coming off a heavy defeat inflicted by Folgore (0-4) and will face La Fiorita on Wednesday. The Gialloblù had to work hard for all three points against Juvenes Dogana, once again relying on Affonso’s talent to untangle a complicated match. La Fiorita will be without goalkeeper Vivan, suspended for one game following Saturday’s red card, while Fiorentino welcome back Pesenti from suspension.
