League: 2024 draws to a close, spotlight on Tre Fiori-Virtus

The last outing of 2024 awaits the teams in the Campionato Sammarinese. This weekend will see the 14th round, with just two matchdays left before the end of the first half of the season. The most enticing fixture looks to be Saturday’s 18:00 clash between Tre Fiori and Virtus. In Montecchio two of the in-form sides go head-to-head: on one side the Acquaviva club, top of the table and on a winning streak (seven in a row), on the other Girolomoni’s Tre Fiori, also in great form (five wins in the last seven, unbeaten since 19 October), even if they currently trail the leaders by six points. Before the Montecchio top clash at 18:00, La Fiorita kick off at 15:00 against Juvenes-Dogana looking for points to close in on Virtus. The Gialloblu sit second and a win would temporarily take them level at the top with the Neroverdi. Saturday’s game will also be the third meeting of the season, after the two in the Coppa Titano (both won by Ceci’s side). Staying with Saturday 21 fixtures at 15:00, Folgore will be aiming to climb further when they face a struggling Libertas in Montecchio. The Falciano club are currently sixth, despite a somewhat up-and-down recent run. Libertas, meanwhile, are going through a difficult spell: still in the playoff zone but coming off four straight defeats. The Granata, coached by Samuele Buda, will also be without suspended midfielder Michael Battistini. The same applies to Lasagni, who will have to do without Fabio Cateni. Rounding off Saturday’s 15:00 schedule is the match between San Marino Academy and Tre Penne in Fiorentino. Both are coming off wins in the previous round and will be looking for continuity to finish the year in a positive mood. Berardi’s side are currently eighth (14 points off the leaders), while a victory for Cecchetti’s men would give a major boost to their playoff ambitions – they are currently just 4 points adrift. There are three suspensions: Tre Penne will be without Nigretti and Zafferani, while Academy will miss Federico Ciacci (last round’s match winner). Saturday will be packed with fixtures – five in total – as there is also a 19:00 kick-off in Dogana between Murata and Faetano. Only four points separate the two sides (Grassi’s Bianconeri are ahead in ninth place), with Faetano just outside the playoff positions. There are three Sunday fixtures to complete the 14th round, all scheduled for 15:00. The match at the “Federico Crescentini” between Cosmos and Fiorentino promises to be particularly intriguing. This is another top-of-the-table clash, with the third-placed Gialloverdi taking on the Rossoblu, who are just one point behind. Lepri’s Cosmos boast the best attack in the league (34 goals, with Ben Kacem now joint top scorer alongside Tre Fiori’s Prandelli), while Tarini’s fortress is the second-best defence (11 goals conceded, the same as Folgore and Cosmos themselves). Also at 15:00 – on the artificial surface in Montecchio – Domagnano and San Giovanni face off. Domagnano have managed just one win in their last five, while Tognacci’s Rossoneri are in good shape and unbeaten since 8 November. Paolo Rossi’s Wolves will be without suspended player Giacomo Buda. It will be a crucial relegation six-pointer between Pennarossa and Cailungo (Domagnano, 15:00). The Biancorossi are currently second from bottom, two points clear of the Rossoverdi. A win would be a major morale boost for either side and could prove vital in reigniting their push towards the playoff zone. However, the Chiesanuova club will be without suspended Gega, banned for two matches by the sporting judge after his red card in the last round. A reminder that all matches in the 14th round of the Campionato Sammarinese will, as always, be broadcast live streaming and on-demand on the Titani.TV platform.
