League, early top-of-the-table clash: Tre Fiori v Folgore in Dogana

The sixth matchday of the 2025-26 Campionato Sammarinese gets off to a flying start: at the Ezio Conti in Dogana tomorrow evening the fixture list offers up Tre Fiori v Folgore – separated by just three points in the table. The Fiorentino club are the only side still with a 100% record and, should they fail to confirm that status in the early kick-off, they would be at serious risk of being caught or overtaken by Tre Penne and Virtus. The Gialloblù have won three matches by the narrowest of margins (1-0), only cutting loose in the victories over San Marino Academy (3-1 comeback) and San Giovanni (4-0). Folgore’s wins, on the other hand, have generally been more comfortable, with their only setback a narrow defeat to reigning champions Virtus. Tomorrow in Dogana, from 21:15, a clash of undoubted interest – streamed free on both Titani.tv and FIFA+.

No less intriguing is the duel that will be played at the same time between Cosmos and Tre Penne, scheduled at the Acquaviva Stadium. The Biancazzurri have made a decidedly solid start to the season, with their only draw coming against La Fiorita. The same cannot be said for Andy Selva’s side, heavily penalised by a goal drought that lasted 384 minutes. There will be several former players on the pitch: Luca Ceccaroli (twice winner of the Pallone di Cristallo in a Tre Penne shirt) will face the Città club as an opponent for the first time. On the other side, you would need more than one hand to list all the players who have previously worn the Cosmos colours. For this reason – and also in light of the experience, quality and temperament on show – it is fair to expect a fiery encounter.

The other early kick-off scheduled for tomorrow evening also promises to be rather interesting, with Domagnano and Juvenes-Dogana going head-to-head on the Montecchio artificial pitch. Level on eight points, just behind the leading quartet, both intend to fully embrace the role of outsiders. While it is far too early to start thinking about the final standings in the regular season, the expected resurgence of Cosmos and La Fiorita would significantly reduce the chances of breaking into the top seven. A target that Amati’s side (he is a major former figure of this fixture) and Boldrini’s team (back from suspension) have so far shown they deserve.

There will also be three simultaneous matches on Saturday afternoon. In Acquaviva it will be the turn of Faetano and Libertas who, with five points apiece, are still searching for a clear identity. That is a natural phase for two heavily revamped squads, but they cannot afford to drop points in what – in every respect – can be considered a six-pointer. Much the same applies to Pennarossa v San Giovanni, also kicking off at 15:00 but on the Montecchio synthetic surface. Sharing the aim of reaching the post-season, both sides will be looking to secure an advantage that could prove decisive in the spring. The task facing Cailungo, however, is far more complicated, as they visit La Fiorita in Domagnano on Saturday. Ceci’s team boast the league’s best attack, perfectly in line with the need to try to win every match in order to chip away at the five-point deduction with which their campaign began. In this sense, the three draws recorded so far have made the objective more difficult, stretching the gap to the summit to eleven points.

Virtus, champions on all fronts, will take to the field in the last of the early fixtures. Bizzotto’s side hope to find themselves top of the table after their match in Montecchio (Saturday, 18:15) and to make that possible, victory over Costantini’s Fiorentino is non-negotiable. The Rossoblù will be eager to quickly erase the heavy defeat to Folgore (0-3) suffered before the break, while Virtus aim to extend their run of consecutive wins (4) and clean sheets (3). On the same pitch, but on Sunday at 15:00, it will be San Marino Academy v Murata. It’s a clash at the foot of the table, with the Under-22 Biancazzurrini having suffered four straight defeats after their opening draw with Libertas – albeit having faced in succession the four sides with the highest technical level in the entire league. Murata, for their part, are weighed down by an eight-point deduction imposed before the season kicked off and the two draws picked up against Cailungo and Libertas have not been enough to drag the Bianconeri’s tally back into positive territory. In any case, Sunday’s match looks likely to be evenly balanced and full of spark.
