League: the Fab Four are set, only third place still to be decided

A goal at the very end of an endless match gives La Fiorita top spot in the group. There is no chance for Tre Penne to respond, as they will sit out the next and final round. The Gialloblù strike in the 13th minute of stoppage time of a match long halted due to Zago’s injury. Grandoni decides it. With this defeat, Pennarossa definitively waves goodbye to any chance of breaking into the top four – the sides that reach the play-offs without going through the Preliminary Round. Within this elite group, with the situation between La Fiorita and Tre Penne already defined, the only issue left is who will take the last step on the podium: that place is currently occupied by Tre Fiori who, having beaten Virtus yesterday, have drawn level but in fact moved ahead – thanks to the head-to-head record – of the Acquaviva side, undone by Adami Martins’ goal. A single goal, in fact an own goal, also decides the clash between Domagnano and Libertas: Mazzavillani’s unfortunate deflection allows the Granata to take all three points and keep up their pursuit of fifth place, although on paper next weekend’s fixtures look more favourable for the sides ahead of Cardini’s team, namely Pennarossa and Faetano. Less than twenty-four hours after securing their play-off spot, San Giovanni fall in their meeting with Fiorentino. Three goals for Malandri’s men, all within the quarter of an hour between the 70th and 85th minute: Castellazzi opens the scoring, then Filippi and Molinari – the latter from the spot – also get their names on the scoresheet. The most prolific match of the day is the derby between Cosmos and Folgore. The reigning champions return to winning ways, seeing off their cousins with a five-goal haul: the yellow-red-and-black go ahead just after the quarter-hour through Docente, and extend their lead before the break thanks to Fedeli and Rosini. At the start of the second half Docente scores again, before Cosmos mount a reaction that brings a brace for Ura, scorer of seven of his side’s eight league goals this season.
