League: four pairs of matches for matchday eight

The unavailability of the Domagnano ground, due to another sporting event being held there which prevents access, means the eighth round of the 2025-26 Campionato Sammarinese will be split into four time slots of two matches each, spread over three days.

It all begins tomorrow evening, with the early kick-offs scheduled in Acquaviva and Dogana. At the Ezio Conti in Dogana, Cosmos will be looking to build on their run of three consecutive wins as they face bottom side Murata. One win and two draws so far for the Bianconeri, who – discounting the points deduction – would in fact have the third-worst tally in the standings. At the Acquaviva Stadium it will instead be the turn of Faetano and La Fiorita, a game that is never dull and can be likened to a derby – even if the clubs represent two different, albeit neighbouring, Castelli. Ceci’s men also started the season with a points deduction, and after seven games they find themselves nine points off the summit.

Of the two joint leaders, Virtus will be the first to take to the field. On Saturday afternoon in Montecchio (15:00), the reigning champions go up against San Giovanni, who have recently returned to winning ways after a six-match drought. It is the exact opposite story for Virtus who, aside from a single draw, have done nothing but win so far. At the same time in Acquaviva, one of the most intriguing fixtures of the weekend will also be played. Boldrini’s Juvenes-Dogana side have shown themselves to be compact and dangerous: the test posed by Tre Penne is certainly one of the sternest, bearing in mind that Berardi’s team have won just one of their last five outings, including league and Coppa Titano games.

At 18:15 there are two more clashes: Folgore – along with Pennarossa the only team yet to draw this season – will be chasing a sixth victory against Libertas, aiming to keep Domagnano and Tre Penne behind them while also staying in touch with the frontrunners. In that regard, the Fiorentino derby could spring a surprise or two. Despite Costantini’s side going through anything but a purple patch, the quality of their front three is worth far more than their finishing record to date would suggest. Fiorentino’s goals from open play have been missing since the opening day; since then, they have only celebrated Fratini’s header from a corner and a recent penalty converted by Abouzziane. The other half of the Castello are coming off their first league draw, which nonetheless kept them top after six straight wins. Last Friday’s match with Tre Penne was also the only game in which Tre Fiori have failed to find the net.

The round concludes with the Sunday late fixtures at 15:00, when Domagnano face a Cailungo side in the midst of a poor run. The dramatic elimination in the Coppa Titano Round of 16 – where the Rossoverdi had the tie in their hands up to the 89th minute – led to Sarti’s dismissal, with Bartoletti taking over for the last round, which still ended in defeat against San Giovanni. Up against the in-form Lupi, who put six past Murata only a week ago, Cailungo will need a top-level performance if they are to have any hope of picking up points.

At the same time, Pennarossa-San Marino Academy will be played at the Acquaviva Stadium. It is a match of huge importance for both: the Biancazzurrini are hunting for their first victory of the season, while Pennarossa – coming off two wins and two defeats – want to fuel their ambition of finishing the regular season in the top eleven, thereby securing a play-off spot.
