League: Libertas ‘punish’ Tre Fiori with a comeback, Piscaglia hands Virtus all three points

Two free-kicks give Libertas their first win of the season. A come-from-behind victory, built after Tre Fiori had taken the lead well into the second half. It all starts with a ball over the top from Braschi for the run of Bernardi, who shakes off Monterosso, cuts back onto his left and beats Del Prete from close range. The Granata reply immediately and it also comes from a set piece: Buzi touches it off for Ahib, who surprises Nardi at the near post. It’s 1-1 on 71 minutes. Aguzzi scares Del Prete with a diagonal effort, then Sperindio’s goalkeeper has to work hard to keep out a dangerous cross-shot from Braschi. As the match ticks into added time, Libertas are awarded a free-kick from 18 metres out. Captain Moretti steps up and curls the ball right into the top corner, ending Tre Fiori’s unbeaten run (they had been on maximum points) and gifting his side their first victory after a draw and a defeat. While Tre Fiori fall, Virtus remain unbeaten and record their second win on the bounce. The Neroverdi have to dig deep to get the better of Juvenes-Dogana, who come very close to taking the lead midway through the first half through Simeoni, denied only by a stunning save from Passaniti. The winning goal arrives just before the interval and comes from a corner: Buonocunto delivers, finding Rinaldi, who nods it down for Piscaglia, lightning quick to turn the ball into the back of the net. On 80 minutes Virtus again find the net through Piscaglia, this time following a free-kick swung into the area by Buonocunto. However, the referee rules it out for a foul that does not entirely convince Bizzotto’s men, who are then saved in stoppage time by a prodigious reflex save from Passaniti on Cevoli’s header.
