League: Tre Fiori in early action to defend top spot
The third matchday of the 2024-25 Campionato Sammarinese is just around the corner and will be played over three days next weekend. There will be two early fixtures, scheduled for Friday with kick-off at 21:15. One of the two sides currently top on maximum points will also be in action: Tre Fiori, who at Montecchio will lock horns with Libertas – still chasing their first win of the season after being pegged back at the death by Juvenes-Dogana in their last outing. The team from Serravalle will at the same time be involved in Acquaviva, where they take on reigning champions Virtus: Bizzotto’s side have collected four points from their first two league games.
The remaining six matches are evenly split between Saturday and Sunday, all kicking off at 15:00. San Marino Academy Under 22 will face Fiorentino on Saturday at the Stadio Federico Crescentini. Cecchetti’s young team are seeking their first points of the campaign against opponents coming off an exhilarating last-gasp victory over San Giovanni. Tognacci’s Rossoneri are eager to bounce straight back, despite facing a side in good form. That side is Folgore, whom San Giovanni will meet in Montecchio. The last fixture scheduled for Saturday is Murata-Domagnano: the Bianconeri are the other team with a perfect record, thanks in part to their prestigious win over Cosmos. Paolo Rossi’s side, meanwhile, are coming off a narrow defeat to Virtus, having edged San Marino Academy in their opener.
On Sunday, La Fiorita, Tre Penne and Cosmos will be in action – all involved in matches where they will start as favourites on paper. The Montegiardino club, who overturned a 0-2 deficit into a 4-2 win against Cailungo, will travel to Domagnano to face a Faetano side determined to make amends for the heavy defeat suffered last week at the hands of Tre Penne. The latter are looking to back that up against a Pennarossa still without a point, with the game to be played in Fiorentino. Rounding off the programme for matchday three of the Campionato Sammarinese is the clash in Montecchio between Cailungo and Cosmos. Both beaten on matchday two, they are chasing points and a reaction.
The third matchday of the 2024-25 Campionato Sammarinese will be broadcast in full via live streaming with Italian commentary on TITANI.TV.
