San Marino Championship - 28 January 2026

League, Tre Fiori seize sole leadership in commanding fashion

With this evening’s clash at the “Ezio Conti” Stadium in Dogana between Tre Fiori and Cosmos, parity has been fully restored in terms of games played by the sixteen sides in the Campionato Sammarinese. Seventeen each, to be precise, while awaiting the rescheduling of the entire fifteenth round which – as announced today – will be played on 10-11 February 2026.

Tre Fiori-Cosmos resumed from a goal kick for Cosmos with the clock set at 6:20 of the first half: as per regulations, in the exact same space and time as at the moment of the interruption due to fog on 18 January at the Fiorentino Stadium. From the restart of hostilities Girolomoni’s side took command of operations: efforts from Pini and Benedettini did not trouble Semprini, who was bailed out by a team-mate on 22 minutes on Pini’s right-footed strike from the middle of the area. A minute later came Cosmos’ reply through Hamati: the midfielder cut in from the left in a carbon copy of the move that brought the second goal against Domagnano last weekend. Nardi, though, had clearly studied the lesson, reading his intentions early and turning the ball away at the near post. The match produced no further thrills until the final minute of added time, when Benedettini went it alone to score a stunning goal at the death. The midfielder collected the ball just over the halfway line and drove at the opposition defence, squeezing between two men before unleashing a right-footed effort at the near post that left Semprini rooted.

At the start of the second half Sensoli came on for the booked Scarcella in the Tre Fiori set-up, and the San Marino international needed just a few minutes to make his mark. First, Cosmos threatened down the Andretta-Gjurchinoski axis in the 52nd minute: the Croatian forward scored against his former club, but Tuttifrutti had spotted his offside position at the start of the move – ruling out the goal. Everything was above board, a minute later, at the other end: Sensoli worked a good ball on the edge of the box, laying it off to Prandelli, who wrapped his right foot around it without a second thought. The curling effort caught Semprini out and made it 2-0 at the beginning of the second half. On the hour mark Tre Fiori put the game to bed, once again finding Sensoli as the man to deliver the final ball: a sharp piece of skill to beat his fellow countryman Mularoni, then a perfect cross to the back post for the arriving Bernardi, who turned it in from close range with a sliding finish into an unguarded net. Cosmos showed no real sign of a reaction, relying on a Gjurchinoski free-kick – deflected by the wall – as their only genuine attempt on goal, aside from an Andretta header from an offside position. At the other end Terenzi had a chance, but his right-footed effort from the edge of the area was far too weak to trouble Semprini. It finished with a clear and fully deserved win for Tre Fiori, who pull away from Virtus and move top of the pile with a three-point lead over the reigning champions.
