League: Virtus back on top, narrow wins for Tre Fiori and La Fiorita
Few goals but all of them decisive for the wins recorded by Virtus, Tre Fiori and La Fiorita in Saturday’s fixtures of Matchday 7 of the 2026-27 Campionato Sammarinese. Thanks to their 1-0 victory over Domagnano, the Neroverdi from Acquaviva move – at least for now – back to the top of the table, pending tomorrow’s big match between Folgore and Tre Penne. The clash in Acquaviva between Virtus and Domagnano was lively right from the start. After a quarter of an hour Bracconi produced his first save of the afternoon, denying Badalassi; a few minutes later, however, he could do nothing about Piscitella’s superb solo effort. The Neroverdi winger cut inside and, once in the box, left Bracconi rooted to the spot with a powerful right-footed strike. Just before the interval there were two more chances, one at either end: Bracconi again said no to Nunzella, before Michelucci fired just over with a chance to make it 1-1.
Virtus went in search of the knockout blow and, shortly after the hour mark, came very close on two occasions: first Badalassi, on a cross from Lahrach, missed contact by a whisker, then in the continuation of the move it took another outstanding save from Bracconi – one of the best performers on the day – with one hand to keep out a close-range header from the ever-dangerous Badalassi. Late on, De Lucia’s dismissal for a second yellow card made life more complicated for the Neroverdi. Deep into stoppage time Domagnano almost took advantage with a bullet header from Contadini, but Guddo was crucial in keeping his side in front. Virtus therefore take all three points, their sixth consecutive victory. For Domagnano, by contrast, it is a fourth defeat in their last five outings.
Same scoreline for Tre Fiori, who edged out a good Murata side in Fiorentino. In the first half Olivieri was the standout performer. On 43 minutes the Murata goalkeeper beat away a close-range attempt from Pesaresi, and a minute later produced another fine stop to turn away Benedettini’s powerful drive. Murata replied at the start of the second half through Brisigotti, before Olivieri – man of the match – again came to his side’s rescue, this time denying Sami. The decisive goal arrived on 65 minutes: Terenzi laid the ball off on the edge of the area to Bernardi, whose excellent vertical pass picked out Dolcini’s run, and the midfielder made no mistake one-on-one with Olivieri. Murata refused to give in and had two late chances to equalise: the first in the 89th minute, when Brisigotti’s free-kick crashed back off the post, then in stoppage time Hassler fired into the side-netting from a great position. Tre Fiori, however, were able to rely on the lone strike from the San Marino midfielder – his first goal of the competition – to return to winning ways and move up to third place alongside Tre Penne (who play tomorrow).
La Fiorita also returned to winning ways (a third victory in their last four) with a narrow success over Libertas. It was not the best of starts for the Gialloblù – wearing orange today in full Halloween style – who had to contend with an injury to Tommaso Zafferani. The match was evenly balanced but in the 37th minute Selva’s side managed to break the deadlock: Bonetti shielded the ball well in the final third before slipping it to Semprini, who shifted it onto his right and, from the edge of the area, beat Foiera with a brilliant strike. After the restart La Fiorita found the net again: Cicarelli played a vertical ball for Nigretti, who squared for Nappello to double the lead. Moments later, however, assistant referee Sapigni flagged for offside against the winger, to the protests of the Gialloblù, who were convinced the goal should stand. Three minutes on and it was Libertas who almost levelled when Melandri – after a superb save by Vivan on Cristiani – found the goal gaping but from inside the six-yard box effectively blasted the ball straight at Mazzotti. It would prove a costly miss for the Granata, who therefore had to accept a 1-0 defeat to La Fiorita.
The only draw on Saturday afternoon came between Pennarossa and San Marino Academy. Early on, Grandoni squandered a golden chance to give the Titani – still without a win in the league – the lead, before a red card for Abouzzine, sent off for a second booking, complicated matters for Costantini’s Biancorossi. The Academy pushed forward and, on 59 minutes, Valentini passed up a remarkable chance – well set up by a lay-off from Grandoni – when the young midfielder failed to hit the target from inside the box. On 65 minutes the Titani created another opportunity with Zavoli’s header, brilliantly kept out by a reflex stop from Cagnina. The goal seemed to be cursed for the Biancorossi, and so Pennarossa tried to pull a trick on the Titani, who ended up causing problems for themselves. A miscue by Ciacci and Amici in the build-up gifted possession to Calderone, who broke the deadlock on 81 minutes. The Academy’s response was evident in the closing stages and it was Ciacci himself who found the equaliser: the captain made amends for his earlier mistake with a fine header to make it 1-1. In stoppage time there was also a second sending-off for Pennarossa, with Guida dismissed (again for a second yellow card).
