National Team: FSGC launches fan engagement activities and services for blind supporters

The promotion to redeem complimentary and discounted tickets through participating newsagents and bookshops, linked to the launch offer of the latest San Marino FA book, "Il calcio sammarinese 2016-2021: i nostri primi 90 anni", expires today. On Tuesday and Wednesday, in fact, it will only be possible to exercise this right at the FSGC headquarters, from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 15:30 to 19:00. To mark the national team’s return to action, with the official friendly against Lithuania scheduled for 25 March (20:45, San Marino Stadium), the San Marino Football Federation will roll out a series of fan engagement initiatives – and will once again provide the audio-descriptive commentary service for blind and partially sighted fans. Last Friday, in fact, some local and Romagna-based supporters were invited to the Serravalle ground, in cooperation with Attiva-Mente and the Rimini territorial section of the Unione Italiana dei Ciechi e degli Ipovedenti. To further raise public awareness of the importance of accessibility, the FSGC will make up to ten additional audio-descriptive commentary devices available to non-disabled fans, so they can experience first-hand what is offered to blind supporters. The Federation will also present gadgets to those who take part in this initiative for at least one half of the match, and will offer a discounted ticket for one of the two UEFA Nations League fixtures to be played at the San Marino Stadium (Malta on 5 June, Cyprus or Estonia on 27 September). Given the limited number of devices, it is advisable to book this experience by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. The same contact can be used by disabled spectators to give prior notice of their attendance at the Stadium for the upcoming matches against Latvia and Lithuania (U21). Unlike the most recent senior national team fixtures and in addition to the activities linked to the CAFE Week of Action 2022, admission for disabled fans and any accompanying person will be completely free of charge. Tickets can still be purchased, both in person and online, at the full price of €10.00 (50% discount for Over-65s and free for Under-12s). Tickets are available at Viva Ticket outlets in San Marino and Italy, on the Viva Ticket website (click here to buy your ticket online) and at the FSGC Federal Secretariat (office hours). On matchday, subject to availability, tickets can be purchased directly at the San Marino Stadium ticket office from 18:45. That is not all: on the day of the match, the Federation will also launch a unique initiative in San Marino, giving fans holding a ticket for San Marino–Lithuania the chance to exchange one of their own football shirts, of any kind – original or not, club or other national team – for an official San Marino National Team shirt (available in white or light blue, while stocks last). The only condition is that the shirt to be exchanged must not be a previous San Marino national team kit: help us bring colour to the San Marino Stadium! Finally, shortly before kick-off, the San Marino Football Federation will publicly renew its cooperation with the Federazione Sammarinese Sport Speciali, to which a financial contribution will be allocated to support the organisation of sporting activities for athletes with intellectual disabilities, along with full backing for joint events – with important news in this regard to be announced shortly.
