National Team, Golinucci: "We can’t wait to battle with Denmark"

Alessandro Golinucci, Virtus and San Marino National Team midfielder, sounded the charge in front of the Danish media at Parken Stadium on the eve of the pre-match press conference ahead of Denmark v San Marino. The fifth fixture in Group H is perhaps the toughest of all, as the Titans will be facing the group’s top seed at a time of year that is physiologically not ideal for the Biancazzurri. “From a players’ point of view, the physical-athletic gap is probably what we suffer from most in matches like the one awaiting us tomorrow. But even though most of us do not yet have official matches in our legs or – as in my case – only one, I have seen in each of them the focus and the drive needed to honour in the best possible way such a daunting challenge as the one in Copenhagen”. Fully aware of the extreme difficulty of the match ahead, Costantini tries to size up the Parken Stadium clash: “We are expecting a match full of pitfalls, as is only natural when you face the best team in the group away from home. From our side, we’ll try to produce our best performance – as we always aim to do whenever we are called upon to represent our Republic on the international stage. Our objective,” admits the Head Coach, “will be to improve on what we did in Finland in June, the only blemish on a year and a half of excellent performances in which San Marino have managed to stay in the game against any opponent. All this without forgetting our semi-amateur status, which will be up against a very different reality, made up of champions who have been training or even playing in a fully professional environment for over two months now”. Denmark v San Marino will be played tomorrow evening at Copenhagen’s Parken Stadium, with kick-off at 20:45.
