National Team: June friendly with Cyprus confirmed

A new international fixture awaits the Titani, who no more than a week ago discovered their next opponents in the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League. While waiting to find out whether Lithuania or Gibraltar will join San Marino and Liechtenstein in the group, Roberto Cevoli’s side can already look forward to a high-level official friendly on the eve of summer. On 11 June at 18:00, the Biancazzurri will face Cyprus at the San Marino Stadium. Previous meetings between the two national teams have all been competitive fixtures – and all have gone the way of the Cypriots. The last encounter in Serravalle came in 2019, when Cyprus ran out 5-0 winners, having already claimed two narrow victories in their other trips to San Marino (1998, 2007). San Marino’s future opponents have secured their place in League C of the UEFA Nations League, finishing – together with Belarus – as one of the two best fourth-placed teams in the division, thereby leaving Gibraltar and Lithuania to contest a delicate play-out between League C and League D. Interestingly, it is from that tie that, in March, the name will emerge of the team San Marino will visit on 10 October – their first away match of the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League campaign.
