National Team revs up: 27 preliminary call-ups for an unprecedented fortnight

The San Marino National Team is ready to embark on a run of official fixtures packed closer together than ever before. The new FIFA calendar format foresees four matches in ten days: it starts on Saturday 26 September with the clash at the San Marino Stadium against Finland (18:00, ticket info). It is a fascinating fixture, as it will mark the absolute debut for the Titans in League C of the UEFA Nations League, earned thanks to victory in Group D1 in the previous edition ahead of Gibraltar and Liechtenstein. Three days later comes another home assignment: on Tuesday 29 September Albania will visit Serravalle (20:45, ticket info) for a match expected to attract a large travelling support.

The National Team will take to the pitch for their official training session on the eve of the Finland game tomorrow at 18:00 at the San Marino Stadium. Half an hour earlier, in the press room of the same venue, Roberto Cevoli will meet accredited media. Next Monday, meanwhile, the pre-match press conference for San Marino-Albania will be held at 18:30, with the official training session scheduled for 19:30.

Afterwards, there will be two away trips: on 3 October the Biancazzurri will fly to Budapest, where they will face Belarus at a neutral venue. The tour de force will then conclude in Tirana, where Roberto Cevoli’s men will pay a return visit to Albania. In view of this packed schedule, the Head Coach has named 27 players for the preparatory training camp ahead of the fixtures – from this group, 23 will be selected to feature on the official match sheets for the various UEFA Nations League games on the calendar.
