National teams: Mattia Casadei takes charge of the Under-19 futsal side

Mattia Casadei becomes the third Head Coach in the history of San Marino’s Under-19 futsal national team. Already a technical assistant to Osimani during the most recent continental campaign in Albania, the Sammarinese coach is now preparing to lead the Young Biancazzurri in the qualifiers for the European Championship scheduled for January 2027. On that occasion, San Marino will once again be able to play in front of its home crowd – as has happened in three of their four previous appearances. The new Head Coach’s technical staff is completed by Fabio Gasperoni (assistant coach), Gianpaolo Brighi (goalkeeping coach), Lorenzo Bollini (fitness coach) and Francesco Morri (team manager).

Casadei’s Young Biancazzurri will compete in Group A of the Preliminary Round of Qualifying for the Under-19 European Championship during the international window from 19 to 24 January 2027. The group winners at this stage of the tournament will join the twenty-five national teams entering at the Main Round. In the group hosted by San Marino, drawn on 2 October, Gibraltar, Kosovo and Estonia were also placed.
