Referees: Beltrano and Cristiano in Georgia for the Euro U17 Qualifiers
Not only the Under-17 National Team, about to make their debut in Slovakia under head coach Alessandro Loris Bonesso, but the Sammarinese refereeing corps is also involved in Round 1 of next year’s European Championship qualifiers. San Marino’s international referee Michele Beltrano and his counterpart in the role of assistant referee Ernesto Cristiano have in fact been appointed to the mini-tournament hosted by the Georgian FA. Alongside the hosts, the age-group sides representing the football associations of Iceland and Greece are also taking part. So far, the two match officials have already been involved in two games: Beltrano took charge of Iceland-Georgia on 24 October, with Cristiano assisting him. Yesterday, meanwhile, Beltrano fulfilled fourth-official duties in Greece-Iceland, where Cristiano – paired with Swiss assistant Dos Santos – assisted Swiss referee Sven Wolfensberger.
