Referees: Delvecchio in Andalusia for Euro Beach Soccer League

The first stage of the regular season of the Euro Beach Soccer League took place from 22 to 25 May in Andalusia, a short distance from Jerez. Specifically, in El Puerto de Santa Maria, the iconic Real Plaza de Toros was transformed for a few days into a beach soccer arena – creating a truly unique setting for a sporting event of this magnitude. Among the match officials appointed for this opening stage of the continental competition was San Marino’s international beach soccer referee – Raffaele Delvecchio. The ASA-listed referee took charge of Poland-Türkiye (6-1), as well as the clash that decided the stage title in favour of hosts Spain. La Roja finished their group with a perfect record, defeating Ukraine (5-3) in the final, decisive match. During the awards ceremony that crowned the Iberian side – ahead of the next fixtures scheduled in Batumi, Georgia, from 18 to 20 July – individual prizes were also handed out. Spain’s Chiky Ardil did the double, finishing both as top scorer (seven goals in three matches) and MVP of the opening Euro Beach Soccer League stage, while French goalkeeper Guerin stood out among his peers.
