Referees: meeting at the Stadium with Head Coach Roberto Cevoli

The all-round training of the National Referees’ Committee continues. On Tuesday evening at the San Marino Stadium in Serravalle, the National Team Head Coach Roberto Cevoli accepted the invitation of the CAN and its president Cristiano Ascari. During a very enjoyable and engaging evening, Cevoli spoke about tactics and the specific features of the various playing systems. The meeting was extremely insightful and once again confirmed how knowledge of players, teams and their playing style can help match officials perform their role better: moving more effectively on the pitch and developing that tactical awareness which allows them to read and anticipate the action as it is about to unfold. The evening, attended by virtually all ASA members as is the case for almost every training session, also featured highly interesting moments of debate between Cevoli and those present in the room, with entertaining anecdotes from his career – both as a top-flight Serie A player and as a coach in professional teams – and from his experiences with referees over the years. There were many questions for the National Team Head Coach from the Sammarinese referees, which Cevoli answered in full, sparking great interest among all in attendance.
