Referees: Podeschi observer in France for the UEFA European Under-19 qualifiers

A week across the Alps, the last of March, for Stefano Podeschi. The former San Marino international has in fact been appointed as a UEFA Referee Observer for the Elite Round of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifiers. Group 1 was staged in France, across the venues of Saran and Orléans, from 22 to 28 March. Norway clinched the only place available for the final tournament in Malta, winning all three of their matches against Romania, Northern Ireland and, of course, hosts France. Podeschi was in the stands in Orléans for the decisive head-to-head, after first being assigned to Norway-Romania, where he also carried out the duties of UEFA Delegate – a role he again combined in the final match in Saran, in which the Scandinavians sealed top spot in the group with a 5-2 victory over Northern Ireland.
