Regions' Cup, final match tomorrow for NAT San Marino to finish on a high

It is the eve of the third and final match for NAT San Marino, who have been involved for a week in the intermediate round of the UEFA Regions' Cup currently taking place in Albena (Bulgaria). After losing their opener to the Irish, Luigi Bizzotto’s side picked up a point in last Friday’s second match against the Bulgarians, though with plenty of regret for the late disallowed goal. Now the Titano representative face Romania, in a game that will not affect the final standings – the Irish have already qualified – but matters in terms of signing off from the competition in the best possible way. © FSGC | NAT San Marino goalkeeper Fabio Gentilini “Tomorrow we want to get the most we can,” said NAT coach Bizzotto, “and finally get that long-awaited victory, which would be the right reward for our tournament. After the game against Bulgaria the lads were disappointed not to have taken all three points. They are ready and we want to aim high.” Bizzotto will have to do without the suspended Matteo Gaiani, booked again in the second match, but will have captain Luca Olivieri and goalkeeper Fabio Gentilini back, both returning after the red card received against the Irish. “The group is in very good shape,” said goalkeeper Gentilini. “We came away from the draw with Bulgaria feeling bitter, but also aware of our level. We can compete with anyone. I was sorry not to be out there with my team-mates because of the suspension, but my team-mate Denis Broccoli was ready and, thanks also to his saves, we came away with an excellent draw.” NAT San Marino will therefore play their final match tomorrow in Albena at 15:00 local time (14:00 in Italy) against the Romanian regional representative Prahova Muntenia. At the same time as NAT San Marino’s match, the game between the Irish and Bulgarian sides will take place in Varna. The Group 6 table shows Ireland top with six points and already qualified, Bulgaria on two points, and one point each for San Marino and Romania.
