San Marino’s Futsal Week ends with defeat to Montenegro
With two draws in three matches, San Marino’s experience at the Futsal Week September Cup in Poreč (Croatia) can certainly be considered a positive one. The final game, played this morning, ended with a win for Montenegro, who scored three times in each half. Five different scorers and an own goal propelled Petričević’s side to a 6-0 final scoreline.
It was Vuletić who broke the deadlock in the 3rd minute, before an own goal by Andrea Tamagnini doubled Montenegro’s advantage. Then, on 10 minutes, Davidović found a way to beat the San Marino goalkeeper again, turning in the goal that made it 3-0 at the interval. Montenegro proved just as clinical after the restart, capitalising on a ball lost by Pazzini in the build-up phase to launch a counter and allow Cimbaljević to find the net. The fifth Montenegrin goal came from a left-footed strike from mid-range by Marković, set up by the ever-dangerous Vuletić. Five minutes from the buzzer, there was also glory for Nikolić, who was played through in front of Pazzini and beat the San Marino goalkeeper in fine style.
