San Marino makes FIFAe World Cup debut
On 25 and 26 September, San Marino made its debut in the FIFAe World Cup, taking part in the regional qualifiers with Sammarinese players Alexandro Burgagni and Christian Pala. Unlike previous eSoccer experiences already gained by the FSGC, the distinctive feature of this tournament is that matches were played in pairs – therefore as two‑versus‑two fixtures. Drawn in a group of eight teams, which was won by Turkey with 13 victories and one draw, San Marino finished bottom of the table – postponing their first points in the brand-new competition that will crown the overall winner in December at the final in Riyadh. Joining Turkey in progressing from Group A – Europe were Malta, Kazakhstan and Czechia. Missing out, together with the Biancazzurri, were England, Iceland and Norway.
